Well... how much damage can he do in 4 years (2 if you consider that he needs to think about re-election...)... I've noticed that while the intellectuals and social media people I interact with may be very anti-Harper... a large number of the, parents, church members, older relatives and Christians in my circle are very pro-Harper... so despite the hue and cry that people are making on the webbs I think the results are representative of the general opinion of the masses (well, that and the liberals and NDPs split the "people who want change" vote to the conservatives benefit...)
Re: #elxn41 [Upcoming Canadian Federal Elections]
he has claimed he will stay moderate but I dont think he is a moderate-thinking person: anti-gay marriage, anti-abortion, anti-childcare, he wants to change the youth protection act (try youth as adults), he doesnt care about the environment, he doesnt care about poor people....i think he could do a lot of damage.
*sigh* at least I dont have to deal with Palin or Trump...thank goodness I left the US before shit really hit teh fan there.

he will not "stay moderate". even if you like his ideals, he is an autocratic egomaniac who will destroy canada. reminder this election was held because he was found in _contempt of parliament_. the first time ever in a commonwealth country.
reminder he actually took down all previous pictures of pms and replaced them with pictures of himself

Fun Fact: I was a member of the Conservative party briefly to vote against Harper as leader... after Harper was chosen as leader I stopped being one...
