Late game (lvl 14-18) the 5v5 battles take all of 5 seconds.
That isn't always the case I have had battles that went back and forth for a minute at level 16+. It really depends on the battle. That isn't a gank but we can discuss this. Honestly if you know of a way to finish a 5v5 in 5 seconds i am all ears.
dimm wrote:Also the farming in lol suks and most times the much more boring careful strategy wins. These (3) are all game flaws.
I assume it is " the much more boring careful strategy wins." that is the second point.

so first point: Do you mean farming as in jungling or are you talking about the lane mobs?
lane mobs: can you give more detail because I personally found the kill denial in hon to make it tedious and boring. What is dull about league farming.
Jungle mobs: is a scary place to be because you never know when an assasin character is waiting for you to become engaged in a fight/damaged.

Tower hugging: I have not seen people who tower hug the whole game win. (assuming this is the boring strat, which is really a tactic)

I am not going to go debate with you on points you made in some random thread 2 months ago.
dimm wrote:note that as many as 2 of these problems would be fixed with a mapmaker
I don't agree what you are describing is changing the game rules which is really a map. Just wcIII/sc made it so that the rules could only be used on a specific map because of hte trigger system. Mods are not really possible because of that. Most games just have mod support. If there were lol mods they would be unranked and marginalized.
dimm wrote:On the note of wikipedia and listal; is there a dmoz like website but where submissions can be rated or something like dmoz?
No idea, I don't fool with sites like this as I see them as wastes of time that I cannot learn a skill from.

One more thing i made was a google sheet that completely calculated the best build per cost for ryz and several other champs.

I have played hon dota and even avalon heroes they don't have the following problems;

That post had a poll of Lol players confirming my 2nd and 3rd points. Also a dissection of them. Only read the poll.

lol makes me stressed really fast. i guess that is why its called lol. I think it may be because in lol you have to click the right enemy in a split second and the combat being rare sporadic and fast. This is hard to prove.

5v5 combat is won in the first 2 sec depending on who attacks who. The rest is just chasing. In those two sec the player must activate a load of skills on the right enemies often in a mess of minions and other players.

Combat, real PvP, in lol takes up less of the overall game-play time. Compared to anything but a luper mmorpg.

If you are loosing Pvp you must farm. The enemy now must attempt to suppress your farming. They win pvp so you must tower hug. If you don't know, ganking a farmer is less effective than just farming.

Lanning mobs; run back and forth either dealing tiny dmg to opponent or trying to prevent your champ from doing anything or getting hit but last hitting. Carpel tunel? Tower hug or have opponent hug; you just farm. Dull.

You are safe, its past lanning stage, now mash abilities to farm more effectively. No brain or challenge.

There are too many minions in a wave.

Make a jungle focused map so lanning problems are gone. Careful is not an option now cause resources are in the field where its not safe. Afaik hon has mod support.

I wanted to love Demigod (and every other GPG game outside of TA and Dungeon Siege 1/2 which i genuinely enjoyed) but it was terribad.

Dimm I think all of your objections are basically expressing your personal tastes and saying why you don't enjoy the experience that, quite clearly, a huge number of other people do. I do not think that by repeating it over and over in this thread you are going to convince us to agree with you.

Speaking of GPG who is in the age of empires beta?

To pintle: Pointless maybe but its not subjective. And in all these posts i really haven't heard more than one argument that actually shows anyone has played the game. In fact in lol most ppl call 5v5 "team ganks".

Anyone interested in that Google spreadsheet that builds champs for you?

Builds depend on your and enemy team. Your lack of experience is showing. Unless you input both teams into your spreadsheet?

speaking of bots, i had someone the other day accuse me of hacking; hit them with 10 morg snares in a row. if that sort of cheat exists, thats just sad.

from what you're saying dimm its not necessarily incorrect (about how the game is mostly farming a lane, combat is quick, farming is OP etc) but doesn't account for assassin/poke characters; if you can knock a farmer out of their rhythm

also i would argue that "pvp combat" does not just consist of just the fights themselves, but the manouvers and positioning that go along with it. lane fights are fairly fast, yes, when you have two teams of 5 trying to engage eachother at the same time, but then you also have long, drawn-out battles as several players arrive to assist their allies in a smaller battle; and those crazy fights in the jungle that go on for a long time as players rush down different paths to escape or cut off the escapes of others

what can we conclude from your stats? that most LoL players are idiots who charge in regardless of strength or strategy to try and get kills/creeps/towers that they might not be able to get

which leads me to the further point : you have to either base your analysis of a game on either pro- or nub- play. if the game seems shallow and boring, but we're looking at idiots playing it, then of course its going to look that way

we could give two children a chess set and basic rules to play with; without instruction as to how they should actually play, they're not going to perform high level strategic manouvers. does their low level play take away from the game itself? hell no

(and does LoL have a lot of stupid players? hell yes. but you have to take that with a grain of salt and realize that those baddies are there by chance and not as an actual set element of gameplay)

WHAT?! A PC game the requires fast reflexes and precise aiming?!?! Why this is truly, truly outrageous !

Let me rewind here for a sec.

Did you just say you've played ranked games with champions that were genuenly *new* to you? As in... Champions you've never played before?

If that's so, I hope you rot in Elo-Hell !

On the other note I don't even know why you guys bother answering this dude, it is obvious that this person is a) a troll or b) plain stupid. Whatever his reasons don't let them steer the discussions in this thread away from the really interesting stuff.

ez; feed a script of random commands including "Enter lo u suk Enter" into some key press emulator. Speaking of which, im tired of doing the combos in mugen, do you know of any key press macro and timing emulator?

Some winning strategies:
1) your allies and your enemies all gather in middle at lvl 11. Do you
a) join them
b) go farm
c) hide near fight,
d) but safely
e) sneak around the enemy

2) everyone is lvl 18, should your team
a) go right at the enemy while in formation
b) bait the enemy with a tank
c) bait the enemy with a weak unit
d) harass and maneuver without commitment
e) hide in bush as whole team

aaaahhh nerdtastic...
I just had an awesome game....We were down in towers and they had about 15 more kills than us, Ashe well fed....
Than we just started rapen...got 2 triple kills.
At start we were doing real bad as team.
They were ganking us left and right raping our towers taking dragon...
I was trying to encourage my team("I hate you team, fuck you noobs") and was sure we were gonna lose and than we managed to afking own them every afking team fight and take baron twice....

I jizzed in my pants when the game ended...
It was especially awesome cause Ashe was bragging the entire game how they are owning us and we're noobs.
One of the best comebacks i had in LoL.

Was playing with Kog.

Every time i have an awesome game with a champ I cant play him again for some time.
It feels like there is no chance ill be able to replicate the awesome game i had with him in the next games.

Recently played a game where two enemies left. My team was so bad (Well except one crazy malzahar player :P ) we were getting smashed by THREE players. Ended up winning, but it was really really drawn out for what it was.
