Isn't it just a matter of unpacking the downloaded file into AI\Skirmish\AIname\ ?hoijui wrote:If downloading native AIs is as simple as getting a mod/map
You have to download a game and map anyway, so why not download the AI too?
Fun fact, screenshot from the installer:

So it already says what games the AIs support and also that some will not work out of the box because they require creating a config file.
So if players still try to play S44 against <random native AI> its really their own fault for not reading. Ok, nobody reads text in installers.
Perhaps the texts could be make bigger and clearer ie "supports other games" sounds like the AI can play all kind of games while it was probally meant to say "if you are lucky and the game is close to TA, it might work."
Maybe as compromise the AI checkboxes could be unchecked by default?
But I think as time goes on, customized installers for each game will become more popular or players will download games and even the engine over zeroK or other lobbies and it will become less an issue what the engine installer includes...
