The RTS/ RTT game APOX has got a review:

Anyways after reading about it, I am like 'wow, thats a lot like Contact'. But the more honest reviews are as expected: Interesting concept, but don't bother buying.
What Contact was kind of supposed to be like..

They had an open beta on Steam, I tried it but it seemed like garbage.

Well the whole mad max theme/setting is not helping.

The unit behavior seems overcomplicated. Don't bother with complexity the user doesn't actually interact with. If the guys on the ground take care of weapon switching and handing off their guns and keeping themselves armed and whatnot, why bother to implement such complicated logic for it? It's just one more thing going on that I can't really control or understand.bobthedinosaur wrote:The RTS/ RTT game APOX has got a review:

That, imho, is what killed Moo3 - a brilliantly intricate simulation is happening under the hood, but the player can barely *see* it. There's a really interesting game going on but the computer is the one playing the fun part.

Definitely not a popular setting. Will not appeal to the general public.bobthedinosaur wrote:Well the whole mad max theme/setting is not helping.

I don't know, Fallout at least is pretty popular. Even the new shit.

As is Stalker, but not with the general public. Of course, if you were making a game for the general public or even the majority of gamers, it wouldn't be an RTS.
