Hi all,
Newbie question ahead:
After spending a lot of time getting my graphics card work graciously with OpenGL (an Intel Mobile one) without Blue Screens of Death* , I played Spring in "Testing Spring" app with XTA and a little map to get used with it.
I ran the entire map, found the other Commander and kicked it's *** and appear there's only my units on map - but there's no "You win" or other means to get sure.
Spring/XTA says when you win ? Or how I can be sure I won (if not)?
EDIT:
Environment
XTA 9.65
Map: Mini_SuperSpeedMetal
AI: Commanders
Spring: 0.82.7.1
Thank you for your attention,
Fabricio
* P.S: Intel Drivers got it working, not Dell ones - if you need to make Spring work with an Intel Mobile 965 Express Chipset board go to Intel.com and get the latest drivers. This solved the OpenGL blues for me.

i'd imagine this is pretty important to some, so thanks for the reportP.S: Intel Drivers got it working, not Dell ones - if you need to make Spring work with an Intel Mobile 965 Express Chipset board go to Intel.com and get the latest drivers. This solved the OpenGL blues for me.
i'm not sure exactly whats happening in your game but the "commanders" script is a basic launcher that allows spring engine to start and place commanders in specific areas, rather than an AI opponent
if you want a fight, it's probably best to start via spring.exe or through a lobby and pick an AI like E323 or KAIK
spring is probably not giving you a win condition because no battle actually started (normally in a match, whether you win or lose, you'll get a notification and a graph of econonmy and damage etc from the match)
hope this helps

I found some posts regarding some issues on ATI and one argued that Intel drivers also have issues with Spring (specially with laptops, Dell ones were cited) and OpenGL.KaiserJ wrote:i'd imagine this is pretty important to some, so thanks for the reportP.S: Intel Drivers got it working, not Dell ones - if you need to make Spring work with an Intel Mobile 965 Express Chipset board go to Intel.com and get the latest drivers. Got new drivers from Intel directly and all BSOD have vanished (never got spring runs over 1 min - the average were about 30s - without an BSOD before).
Ah, ok. Actually it prints an warning message saying the other team died...... But, yes, it doesn't give a win condition ... "Testing Spring" is just that... Testing. It's intended for developers (because developers don't set up actual games when we're working on something). If you want to play a game, then you need to use the lobby to set up a singleplayer or multiplayer game. If you are looking for a sandbox mode, Evolution RTS and Gundam RTS are the only games I know of right offhand that have a sandbox mode.
However, "testing spring" in and of itself is more or less a sandbox mode (not really, but whatever).
If you want an actual battle, you need to set up a game vs another person in the lobby or vs an ai bot, in the lobby.

Games with single player without lobby: (just select them in spring.exe and click "test game")
Kernel Panic - this sp is pretty good, allows you select maps, set AI enemies etc
Gundam RTS - has SP too but I forgott what it was like. (Defending against random spawned enemies + some missions i think?)
Spring Tanks - chose from some preset matches, game itself is pretty meh because wip and dumb AI

@all,
Thank you very much.
Now I have an silly situation ( but I can live with that ): before I updated the drivers, Alt-Tab worked OK (but Spring crashed the entire system in BSOD - most times 30s after start game, 1 min max). Now, spring works flawless for hours but Alt-Tab simply show an black screen when I come back to Spring screen....
Thank you very much.

Re: Spring says when all other teams were wiped?[Skirmish]
play windowed, make spring maximized and (optionally) type /grabinput in spring, if you want to scroll on map borders, or alternatively use middle mouse button for scrolling. repeat /grabinput if you want to leave spring with the cursor.

As a temporary solution you could try running spring in "windowed" mode set to "nearly" your desktop resolution.
