I dont get the fun of watching quake live streams, even of top matches.
It's mostly players shooting at doorways with rockets and than suddenly one makes a split second lightning gun frenzy and the other dies.

1v1 quake is a huge display of skill, but unless you're very familiar with the game and very interested in it and play it a lot - it's boring to watch.

Team matches(ctf usually), on the other hand, are much faster paced and don't have such drastic changes between nothing happening and sudden confrontations.
