Yep,was always their problem...a dead scripted world.
guess you never invested in the adventurers mod, morrowind comes alive 5.2 and the travelling merchants mod

Oblivion and Morrowind can both be modded for awesomeness.

We can't really gather much from this trailer.

But if they make the combat system interesting everything else can be fixed and modded if the vanilla game is crap.

Yup, IK. I love MGE, as long as you don't enable fucking bloom. All the videos of bloomed out "amazing GFX morrowind!" piss me off.

MCA is pretty much essential, it can still feel a bit scripted, but it livens things up.

That engine better be good, because they own id through Zenimax, and if they're not going to use idTech 5 they best have something comparable yet more suited for their titles.

Loved Morrowind, hated Oblivion. Morrowind may not have had the AI work but it had far more interesting landscapes and different places to go from swamplands to rocky steppes to barren ashy shit, lots of "culture" and political intrigue with a fractured population struggling under a benevolent and sometimes violent but at the same time lucrative occupation, factions vying for control in the wake of widespread disenchantment with old traditions and the ever-looming threat of the red mountain and its mysterious danger casting its shadow over all..

In Oblivion it was like okay, lets walk around and explore the forests, the forests with slightly less trees, the forests with a bit of snow, and the forests with a tinge of swampiness to them. Sure it was a lot more pretty and the combat a lot better but the NPCs were only barely more interesting and the all-audio dialogue turned out to be a hilarious flop with NPCs randomly switching accents and a severely limited dialogue. And after about 10 minutes of exploring once you stepped outside into the world you've basically seen all there is to see -- caves, dark grey ruins and light grey ruins. And I remember when Oblivion was first being announced before its release how much hype they made about "Radiant AI" and how NPCs were going to do so much on their own, like go hunting and have conversations that the player could glean info on about nearby treasure or quests, and how they'd pickpocket and peddle their wares and do all of this shit -- essentially the exact same thing they're selling for Skyrim's Radian AI -- and how it's going to be so awesome and immersive and "lively".

I'm psyched for Skyrim too but I have this feeling that it's basically going to be Oblivion except replace various densities of forest with various densities of mountains.

I played a bit oblivion when it was released but I didn't make it to the end even if I liked the game. Actually the game ran pretty slowly on my pc so I couldn't really enjoy it.

Somehow I usually don't give a shit about graphics in video games but that is the kind of game I'd like to be as realistic as possible, just to enjoy yourself exploring vasts mountains and grassland :D

So few days ago I decided to give a chance to morrowind because I was curious about that game that so many people say it's amazing.

Well I was pretty interested by the game though the world is pretty dead and that I didn't understand ANYTHING about combats and magic. I tried to tune the difficulty to the lowest but even with that, I was like WTF is going on when I got into my first real fight with a guy o_o..
So I gave up after some hours.. Too bad cause I really see the potential of the game but well I guess I tried the game 10 years too late.

It reminds me of Arx fatalis, a game I really enjoyed when I was younger. I finished it several times and if I remember well it is pretty close to elder scroll games.

Skyrim looks good, too bad that my computer won't even run 5% of it and that it's for windoZ only :)
Anyway /me is waiting diablo3 :twisted:

I doubt Diablo 3 is gonna be anything amazing...
Just look at SC2...Sure its polished but it has absolutely nothing new to offer to the RTS genre, pretty pathetic.
I prefer a buggy game with cool original ideas than a polished turd.

Gota > I don't need or want anything new :p A good old hack&slash will be fine. I loved torchlight and it's even closer to diablo 1 than diablo 2, so yeah.. I don't expect a revolution, just a good game :)

Sucky_Lord > I clicked and clicked but the guy won't die :p Even the little larva at the beginning of the game were hard to kill :mrgreen:

arx is fucking mega.. better combat that morrowind, but just generally better everything! except graphics.
