Looking downright amazing though. Actually a lot of awesome models in this thread. Are you guys uploading these somewhere? Don't forget about modelbase: http://planet-wars.eu/ModelBase/ :D

Wow, that looks mean, like something that would eat tanks for breakfast. Personally find it way better then that starcraft "dark compost heap of chittin and tentacles". Really scary enemys dont need to hide for prey, dont need to stay in the shade, they can come out to play.

looks like a walking wall/carpet to me.. lower res texture and a more organic approach should look better.. since you are using normal maps, you could model the details like scales, eyes etc. at high res and bake it to the normal map for a better result

about the 'starcrap' similarities... last time I checked blizzard was ripping of decades old (we're talking 50s and 60s maybe even earlier) scifi concepts for that fanboy game, so it's not like they can bitch about any kind of similarity.

Don't listen to Wombat he is speaking nonsense. It is kind of funny that it coincidentally resembles a starcraft unit a bit, that is all.

im loling hard that u took it so seriously.

ANYWAY

fact is blizzard wanted to buy rights to use tyranids. luckly GW refused so they made own (well, there is few similar parts tho).
these nerds who consider sc as holy grail always made my laugh. they rage so much when someone say zerg remind tyranids :D

only issue i see with these models is that they make everything else look like shit. <3 kais

as far as I'm concerned, starcraft features the "Space Marines", "Tyranids(+ some Chaos)" and "Eldar"

Dark Eldar = Zeratul & Co

Its amazing with how much plagiarismpragmatism you can get away. No, there is nothing, but your pride, between you and a inspired Infringment.
