I bet it got burned at some point when they decided it was just a gross rotten peice of scrapwood. It isn't like they made crosses out of preserved varnished oak, they just threw them up with whatever beams they could find. Plus with all the blood that got on jesus' cross it probably started to smell pretty bad after not too long. I doubt anyone would want to keep it around.BvDorp wrote:World has been like this forever since ppl started to value relics of some kind..
I heard you can make a forest out of all the pieces of the Jesus' cross that've been found

People can be pretty ridiculous proclaiming that they have an item from Jesus.
However you have to admit that this is interesting http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... hroud.html - Note that on the picture to the right the parallel lines and bloches were caused by a fire in 1532.
If you don't want to read the geographical article (rather dry), I suggest the 6 question/answer links on the bottom of this page - http://shroudofjesus.com/
What makes this so different from other proclaiming people is that it's gone through very intensive testing (like carbon dateing and STURP) by varius teams of scientists...and really they couldn't prove it right or wrong, they simply don't know how the image was put on it.
