Optimal workflow:
* Search genre in anidb, taking note of things that catch your eye.
* Go to ANN, type in those names to get more detailed information and a second opinion on the quality, find related material. Revise your list.
* Go to myanimelist, look up the items in your list, find the best-rated fansub group for that show.
* Go to aforementioned fansub group's homepage, download the batch torrent.
* If the group is dead or their batch is nowhere in site, try searching nyaatorrents.org, organizing results by size. Go for the biggest one with at least a handful of seeds.
* Wait 6 months.
* Repeat 2-3 times, lowering your standards or broadening your interests.
* 1.5 terabytes of animu.

lol funny thing is I couldn't find more than like 20 anime movies that were really worth watching...
Once i started compromising a bit with anime a huge shit factor immediately appeared and i just had to stop.
I cant imagine what you got there unless its all in bluray,best quality possible etc....
I have a 32 widescreen atm and an older regular 34 but i still cba connecting(nor feel its worth even this small amount of effort) my laptop with the movies to watch what i download or stream... I watch 99% of everything just on my 22 inch, usually in dvdrip quality...
If I want to watch a movie I know is good and has tons of special effects and I can find someone to go with i go see it in the cinema.

Tsk tsk tsk, your standards are still too high man. You need to have a drink or two before you're ready to really start torrenting.

is it inaccurate in a biographical sense or in the way it depicted schizophrenia... I remember some noise about it when it came out but I too really enjoyed that movie.

Also, "Remember Me" has that guy who plays Edward from Twilight in it so you should totally get it and watch it with your wife/girlfriend/female children.

:P Is that guy sparkling in that movie too? I don't like the idea of sparkling vampires.

I'm okay with the idea of sparkling vampires... if you've read the Dresden Files books you become accustomed to the idea of "there's more then one kind". For example in the Dresden books you have like 3 kinds of Vampires and at least 4 kinds of "wolf men". So sparkly former humans who have marble hard skin and drink blood and have their natural human abilities augmented would fit in fine. They'd be less weird then the Incubii frankly.

edit: also, no, he isn't sparkly but he is broody.

The potentially Ideal vampire movie could have been "An interview with a vampire" if it was not for the fact that the female writer of the novel put all her fantasies about gay men into the story thereby making "vampires" actually mean "gay"...

Actually I think this film was the first to depict vampires as feminine and gay.

I got one for you. I just saw the Russian film Stalker (1979)... Kind of feel cheated out of a potentially much better movie, but the movie is very unique film that can't really be described (only watched). If any one else has seen this I'm curious to their thoughts.

I've never heard of "Dresden Files", but I have heard of more than one kind of vampire before. I don't think that sparkling vampires would be less weird than incubii. There are all kinds of demons out there, but vampires are undead and still inside their bodies, so I think it would be strange for them to sparkle. You wouldn't expect a zombie to sparkle.

I saw an interview with the author of "Interview With a Vampire". In the interview she explained that Louie was a depressed vampire and that Lestat was the hero of the vampire chronicles. Lestat even comments at the end of the the movie, "Louie, Louie, Louie, always whining." Plus, some of Louie's vampiric gift was merciful death and the fact that he was supposed to be gorgeous to humans and vampires alike. That may have been why everything in the movie had a depressing, feminine tinge to it. If you watch "Queen of the Dammed", the same characters don't seem so whiny, feminine, and depressing. Lestat actually seems like a very cool, heroic musician. If you notice he prefers to kill only evil doers and he didn't choose to be a vampire and in "Memnoch the Devil" he fights with a demon. I think that Ann Rice does a good job of portraying character perspectives while telling stories.

All Tarkovsky movies are special in that sense.
There are some great inteviews with him on youtube.
I suggest you also watch Solaris(not the American remake) and mirrors by the same director.

In stalker its more the mood of the film than a real plot.
Also in these soviet movies there is this very very very subtle criticism about the system.
But not too much so it passed the censors.

I also watched most of solaris but at some point these movies put me in a deep sleep.

How do Coens do it every time? I don't get it.
i just finished reading review and small theory appeared in my mind. first of all always epic cast, which is like 70% of the movie. secondly music, or actually lack of it. i simply cant say in which movie ive heard any music, cant remind myself any tune. thats what makes their movies grim, obscure and 'dark' even if they talk about flowers.

just small thought ;p
