Re: Movie recommendation
One of the best 3 hour movies ever.momfreeek wrote:'Once upon a time in America'.
Americans like the godfather a lot but this movie is just as good for me.
I must admit I didnt watch other movies by leone, next film is good bad ugly.
But I really dont like westerns, so this better be one hell of a western.
I hated it, I could have cut that movie down to 90min and make it more intersting.KaiserJ wrote: into the void: it was great; mightyone maybe we have similar tastes in movies i've noticed as this thread has progressed (or at the very least documentary)
Then this mumbled sound, because the camera is point of view, (yes I get it) was annoying.
Now that I think about it I hate that director with his assrape movies that make you seasick because the cam is turning all the time.

true grit is not that bad for a western movie
Re: Movie recommendation
"The Odyssey" (1997)
With Armand Assante.
Didnt have a cinema budget(it was made for television) but was still awesome and its more than 3 hours.

Re: Movie recommendation
If friends ask me "do you know this tv commercial where..."
I just say "tv commercial?"
I watch one movie a day for about 3 years, and I almost dont watch television anymore.

unlike gota, i watch the bad ones too, last night i watched "deuce bigalow : european jigolo" (but then watched "hot fuzz" afterwards to erase it from my memory. yarp.)

3) look for ratings of 90%+ by more than 25 reviewers
4) visit www.stagevu.com

How do Coens do it every time? I don't get it.
Re: Movie recommendation
I think the ending was very poor...
As far as i know this was sort of a remake of an older film so maybe the end is taken from there as well but i thought it was pretty bad.

Re: Movie recommendation
i would say ending was totally coenish and i wasnt suprised to see it (again, SO frustrating)
after watching this and 'no country for old men' im becoming some serious fan of Coen bros movies.
