Hello, I've downloaded the latest Spring client but I'm having trouble getting BA to work. I downloaded the link at the top of the page, but I believe that is only an update. Where can I find the full game. I've gotten Kernel Panic to work so far, but I'd much rather be playing a TA based game. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.

are you talking about the link in this post? (aka http://springfiles.com/spring/games/bal ... ilation-20 )

since you already have the engine, you just need http://springfiles.com/spring/games/bal ... ilation-20 and place it in your \mods\ folder

I'm pretty sure that's the actual game and not an Update, what seems to be the problem?coveryfire wrote:Yes, thats the one i downloaded.SinbadEV wrote:are you talking about the link in this post? (aka http://springfiles.com/spring/games/bal ... ilation-20 )
edit: just to clarify,
"Spring" isn't so much an "engine" in the traditional sense...So, if you have "Kernel Panic" what you actually have is a clever collection of programs, scripts, models, maps and other content cobbled together with an executable that makes if so you can play the game "kernel panic" using "the spring engine"... The guys who made "Balanced Annihilation" weren't quite so clever in obfuscating this situation so what you'll need to do is.
- Find out where you installed "Spring"
- Put the sd7 or sdz file you downloaded into the "Mods" sub-folder of "Spring"
- Launch one of the "spring lobbies" and use it to either start or join a match.

oops, looks like you edited your post at the same time I edited mine... glad it's working...
I don't know if there is a BA map pack, but if you intend to play online you'd probably be best just to download the specific maps you see other people playing on.

Hey coveryfire, I don't think there are any real map packs hanging around, but you download each of them individually (from websites like www.springfiles.com). Now this may sound really annoying, but here's a tip: every time you join an automated game (host has a peewee icon, if you're using springlobby) you can say !maplink and the host bot will automatically give you the link for the map - you can click it and download from the site it gives.

If you really wants to download a map pack, you can use this method:coveryfire wrote: Can you link me to a map pack?

You will get about 20Go ++ of maps. Lot of them are underplayed
