I cant for the life of me figure out where to put the game mod file and the map files. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10, with the Spring Lobby that was listed in the software centre. I'm starting to get fed up with this, as every FAQ list is for either straight Linux, or (more often) just for windows....
I haven't gotten any help from ANY of the FAQ's i've found for Spring...
Can someone give me a hand here? Please and Thankyou. <3

Re: Help with installing mods and maps in Ubuntu
Looking in the hidden folder, there is no mods or maps folder. Only Cache and Lobby. The former has an empty folder called SpringLobby, the latter has the same folder, that holds chatlogs of some sort
I also tried making the folders, but that doesnt seem to have worked

Re: Help with installing mods and maps in Ubuntu
try SpringLobby's integrated downloader
Re: Help with installing mods and maps in Ubuntu
Edit: oops, missed this on first read...
- Assuming you had SpringLobby running, did you restart SpringLobby after you made the folders and put the files in them (or alternatively, press the button "reload maps and mods") ?
- Did you take care for case sensitivity? You wrote your .spring folder has "Cache" and "Lobby" - in fact its "cache" and "lobby", and this makes a difference on linux.
So where/are your folders named ~/.spring/mods and ~/.spring/maps ?
I doubt any of that helps, but I can't really think of anything else I'm afraid... :/ . Hope one of the hints gets you going.
Ok, it really should work if you have/make those subfolders and put the correct files in them. There's not many things I can think of that could go wrong - I'll just list them:Roze wrote: I also tried making the folders, but that doesnt seem to have worked

Re: Help with installing mods and maps in Ubuntu
Thanks SeaHeron, it was the capitalisation. I dropped the capitals on mods and maps and it showed up.
Re: Help with installing mods and maps in Ubuntu
Glad I could help :). You wouldn't believe how often that (capitilisation) has caught me out
.
