Ip Man, a story about Ip man, grandmaster of Wing Chun, who fights oppression during the Japanese occupation. Ip man was courageous and humble and defeated one of Japan's greatest fighters in a kill-or-be killed battle. After the war was over, he went on to teach martial arts and one of his students was Bruce Lee.

I recently watched both

Generation Kill

and

The Hurt Locker

Both movies are about the war in Iraq.

Generation Kill is an HBO miniseries, 7 parts, each 1 hour long. Its about a company of recon marines at the very start of the war. I felt the action scenes to be nicely understated, you don't really get the rambo crap in it. Very good dialog imo, but the pace may be too slow for some.

The Hurt Locker is a normal movie, about bomb specialists in Iraq. It won an oscar, so im guessing most of you have heard about it already.

I defs preferred Gen. Kill of the two, it is one of the better series I have seen, similar to the wire, which is not a surprise considering it was written and produced by one of the wires creators. Good dialog and a unique look on the US marines and Iraq make it very good watching.

I thought it would be but I did a forum search for gattaca and didn't see it in the results. Also I am the only person I know who has seen gattaca and didn't have someone else(namely me) get them to watch it.

Yep, very cute creature. It reminds me of that cute little snail from "The Never Ending Story" movie. Thanks for the website recommendation, I'm going to check it out too.

"Wasn't bad" doesn't quality a movie as recommendable ^^
I've seen it too. And indeed it "isn't bad" :)

Watched "Black Swan", very disturbing but really good. Probably not for everyone but if you liked other movies by Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Pi, The Fountain, The Wrestler) don't miss this one.
