H all,
as a newbie I am testing the game now since
approx 3-4 weeks in the singleplayer mode.
But somehow the BOTs, e.g. RAI, are too strong,
they build much faster than what I am able to do.
Quite often I get just overrun with units, while
I was able to build just a few units.
Is there somewhere a configuration where I can change
to beginner mode? Or do you suggest other BOTs?
I am using spring lobby, latest version 117, since yesterday 118.
Tipps would be welcome, since I love the appearance of the game.
Best regards,
Guenter
PS: I played almost all missions of TA and also did several
combats in singelplayer mode, but I don`t think I was
ever overrun so fast and so regularly.
PS: To fix that I only play maps where ground units cannot
reach my homebase so early in the game.
PS: One time I had just finished my frist solar collector, when the
first unit of the BOT arrieved ??

Just played 5-10 games online and you'll never get beaten by a bot again. If you still get beaten by a bot then maybe you should consider playing another Spring game
Bots are treated as a kind of joke for BA as none of them provide any challenge at all for high ranked players.

Hi Jazcash,
well, I was afraid, that such an answer will come
))
Still, I was surprised, that the Bot has so many units, so much earlier
than I do.
Best regards,

Dunno, but I think AI's are designed in a way they try to mimick online gameplay where optimal playing is efficient metal and energy use and aggressive spamming of units. Since most of the maps gives you constant metal income theres no reason to retard spending or conserve your resource for bad days.
In general, Bots are designed to give a good challenge and still they are at large considered too easy. So, you really need to catch up the pace.
Or if you want easy and relaxed game just do the things you mentioned, plus you can give yourself a little handicap - if you are using tasclient. You can also team up with some Bots. For example, play teamgame where you are with two bots against two bots. That should do.
P.S If you are playing BA, It's pretty different from TA in gameplay and pace. So things are happening faster. Try out other mods too to see whether they fit for your style better. I think BOTA is really close to TA. XTA and SA are a bit different but in pace they match pretty good I think.

Watch the replay, see what the bot is doing, try to copy it and figure out what it is doing better at the game than you.
Or even better, go online and watch human players play, most people who play there are much better than a bot. You can also ask questions from other spectators of a game.
Also you can dl & watch replays of games from http://replays.adune.nl/ and then you don't have to wait for a game to start and can watch the game at a faster speed if you want.

perhaps you should watch some replays of your bot matches to see what it is they are doing that you are failing to.
