Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
We should delete the page, and start anew. But also there needs to be a clear system of succession for this, so that we can hand over the logins when people inevitably leave. We should also apply that sort of thinking to the rest of this community management business.

BUMP
Swift is locking offtopic threads but ignoring this one.

Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
Can we have verification that he is indeed the one in control of that moddb profile?
Also why did nobody say we could do fancy stuff like that TA mods page!!! I would've designed something far better than that one image we're using as the banner

unless you think ILM is the one in control. MAYBE it is neddie now but last I recalled it was swift. I will try and bug neddie.

Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
I do not have control of either.
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
Perhaps Neddie can formulate an email to moddb as current Community Lead?
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
I closed one of the facebook groups and elevated AF in the remaining one. I would like to focus on IndieDB myself, but while I can post news I cannot delete the ModDB entry. I will contact ModDB after lunch.
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
moddb and indiedb are the same site. Seriously, should I ask tobi or some other dev to write to intense! so I can take this shit over and get it done?
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
I know they're the same site, thanks Smoth. I meant I'd rather focus on ModDB than Facebook.
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
Imo do so asap even if you have no time to set up the site. Just replace everything with links to springrts.com for start.smoth wrote:Seriously, should I ask tobi or some other dev to write to intense! so I can take this shit over and get it done?
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
I only have officer control of the facebook group, the most I can do is moderate what is said. I cannot edit the description, make updates, change the profile pic, etc, my powers there appear to be limited to deleting peoples posts/comments
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
I'll promote you when I log on after lunch.

Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
I used to be the sole operator but I promoted a bunch of others when I quit handling issues at the community lead. I deleted the download page because it was stupid, but I'm not gonna make the call as to who/what gets added. It's Neddie's call to make.
[edit] WTF, most of the people commenting here already have membership status in the spring developer group as of March. Any of you should have been able to delete that page. It was attributed to the "spring developers". Can anyone figure out how my authority differs from anyone else who has membership of the group?

Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
Mmmmm, there were a bunch of permissions options that were left unclicked. I'm kinda wondering if it was left that way the whole time or if they added the extra security stuff to ModDB after the fact, it was never intended that anyone added to that group wasn't able to manage any of the content on the pages. Anyways, fixed now.
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
Ah, I was wondering why all these powers popped into existence. Alright, we will get it under control from here. On a side note, AF and Forb should be able to handle the Facebook group now.
Re: someone delete Spring from moddb
Didn't bother to read all the thread but my input is just to remove the entry that falls under "Games" and give the proper entry under "Engines" a makeover and serious content update.
If you guys like, I could produce a big bag of screenies for different games. Say, 3 top quality screenies, each with the game logo it belongs to on it for each game.
There are already a bunch of screenies out there you could use of course, but I'd be happy to take new ones which would improve on quality, consistency and relevance. Just give me the word and I'll chuck out a couple every so often.
