Commander fails to spawn on Spring:WD

I know it has to do with some LUA settings but i've been gone for a while.

I have a modinfo.lua and a sidedate.lua, is there anything else I need for the commander to spawn?

I really want to work on Spring:WD but I NEED to know how to get it to work and looking at mods that work doesn't really tell me what i'm missing.
