trying to figure out what I want to do with my life while getting a computer engineering degree. (any suggestions? I know I should get an internship but I'm shy and procrastinate like hell and don't know who to talk to about it. woe is me.)

part time I teach little kids how to add and subtract fractions and negative numbers. (I work at a tutoring center and I love to teach higher level stuff but usually its younger kids and basic math) I do english too and it can be interesting, but usually terribly boring/frustrating.

I'm a student at Sixth Form in the UK (Dunno what the American Equivalent is, I'm 17). Hoping to go on to uni next year to study Computer Science. Currently studying Computing, Business and Maths. Computing is just Visual Basic Express for two years with lots of theory about how Computers work (Binary, Storage, Hardware/Software etc, I'm sure you know the drill).

Anyway, I got into graphic design about the age of 13, just making some really basic stuff without much knowledge of anything. Dunno what hooked me but I kept at it and here I am today with a big Photobucket full of images I've produced over the years, showing my development in graphic design capabilities. If you dig back to page one, you'll see just how rubbish I was at the start

I eventually got into designing web designs, but for a long time, had no idea how to code them at all. After a while, we started learning basic HTML and CSS at school, that's when it really kicked off for me. I just went through W3Schools and that taught me most of what I know, having now designed and coded a couple of web designs.

In terms of programming, VB Express was actually pretty helpful as it introduced me to the fundamental core of programming as pretty much every language use the same key functions such as conditions, iterations, select statements, do and for loops etc. So atm I'm trying to learn the basics of as many languages as I can so I can know exactly what is right for me and get a feel for how the big bad world of programming works.

In terms of web languages I know HTML, CSS, SQL, Javascript basics and PHP basics. As for programming languages, I know Visual Basic pretty well, Java basics and am now reading a nice book on Python. Hopefully one day, I'll be fluent in most of these but I can see that being quite a way away yet

Im at college studying Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Further Maths. Applied to universities for a chemistry degree today, fingers crossed! :)

Similar situtation, studying Maths, Physics, Biology and Further Maths. But for computer science. Applied and got two offers so far so next year I hope to be at uni so woo!
