Nothing wrong with non-square texture sheets.

From the looks of it, you can simply copy Arne's texture directly on there. :P

i know, but the texture image he posted is square and thus doesn't appear to be 512x256

not to worry.

Im just thinking that in your story arma nd core had millennia after the end of the war, they sued space ships instead of hypergates, and the style was different. You have a license to manipulate the existing designs!

That's because I have to use blender to resize the UVs as a whole (as in stretch them vertically) so I'll go with a square texture until I'm done.

HOW DID I DO THIS MAGIC? I googled, found a site of his, went through the site up to the GAMES (oh WOW!) section and CHECK THIS, the term TA and mecha are right there under your nose with a link to his top down TA gallery

no, no, no, i know this psg ta site since a long time, made few units using this, but lets be honest, trying to do them while looking at drawings from 'above' is hard, and i need some 'texture concept' (like he did to flash)

well you have his site and email, last I heard he had higher res versions etc, he just had 101 other things he had to do and kept forgetting
