I need serious help!

Post by SizzoK »

For some reason, my games won't start on spring lobby. I have tried many of the obvious remedies like re installing and updating framework.

My spring downloader will also not work and I think they are connected issues.

When I used TASClient, it said "DevIL.dll was not found"

Re-format and reinstall Windows, you have a virus.

Damn... How do you know? Would malwarebytes take care of it or do I really have to reformat?

The best way is to reformat

I'm running a full scan on malwarebytes and if that doesn't work i'll reformat i suppose. How sure are you that I have a virus and that the virus is the problem?

Uhh unless I'm mistaken, Petah is at least in part trolling you. Google for trendmicro housecall. It's a pretty decent online scanner that should be able to help you out with virus', also, while malwarebytes is a good spyware catcher, spybot search and destroy (it's free) is imo better, and it's also better at preventative measures.

Do click the link. I'm answering your question but with that link I've done it in a trollish way. Hopefully after clicking it kinda makes sense.

Ok... So is my question amateur or something?

I'm not super computer savy but I do love this game... I know all the regular ways to fix spring but I have no idea what to do.

That would be awesome if somebody could help me instead of just making fun of me.

Your question is perfectly valid, its just this forum that has "problems" sometimes...

To your Tasclient problem: I think devil.dll should ship with spring. Maybe try reinstalling spring (and look if devil.dll is there afterwards) or grab that file from the spring portable archive.

No idea to your SpringDownloader problem. Judging from the log I would guess it is somehow related to your proxy maybe. Do you use a proxy?

I'm quite certain I don't use a proxy... I assumed the problem had something to do with the "http" thing. I noticed there were too many colons

To where did you extract TAS Client?

Extract TASClient to your spring folder, you should have devil.dll there, as iirc spring needs it to run.

Thank you so much! It totally worked to extract in spring folder. Plus TASclient is actually way better!

According your first post, your system proxy is setup incorrectly!

To fix it go to internet explorer connection settings and edit proxy server.

Delete the faulty "http://" entry.
