Problems hosting

Post by dwh »

My router (dlink dir-615) has ports 9000-9002 open, and connections to it through the TASServer works fine (on port 9000). I can host a game (on port 9002) and people can join but when I click start they cannot connect.
I tried hosting to other computers on this network and joined using the routers IP for this computer and that worked perfectly.
I've tried reinstalling everything but to no avail and it has mystified me.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

i did only understand half of your post, but you might have to forward the hosting port too:

If memory serves right this TAs getting confused with internal ip, solution would then be to connect to TAS via your external ip or simply don't run TAS and host on the same box.

When hosting use relay host option.
Or host with springdownloader which spawns autohost for you on demand.

stoopid

as koshi said, you're hosting the server and the game on the same comp so the lobby server sends your local ip to the other player and they can't connect ...

I have a computer hosting and a laptop trying to connect. The laptop and computer only connect to TAS if I use the local IP, if I use the global one, it doesn't connect. A friend can connect to it via the global so that's working. How do I make TAS allow connections from the global?

that local-IP issue should be fixed in the version i attached to this post.
hope it works for you. if not, please tell me. it will output some warnings at start, about bans not being supported and the like. that should not be required for casual games wihth friends.
