I have a problem with serving: when i host game in lan or online i cannot connect even to myself. I log as (4 example) X, i host a game and start, after loading theres screen w/ players and everyone (also X) are red. When i force start (ctrl + enter), commanders dont appear. I have ver. 67b. I also cant play single, coz no units appear. When i join/host multiplayer game, i dont see info about my cpu speed. I have win me, pentium 2.6, radeon 9550 and 512 ram. Help plz!

Well, I have to ask what mod you are playing and how long are you waiting?
If you are playing any map for the first time in XTA, you have to path, same for the people joining your game. This can take a while if its a very large map.
In AA, you might have to path on maps you play all the time, so you have to wait. Even when spring did the ghost port thingy, I sitll forwarded my ports. I seen ppl have same problem and forwarding the port fixed it.
Or it doesn't help. I seen where people can host a game fine but 1-2 people can't connect to them. Then I host, and I have no problems. Its weird.

Im connecting to net by cable modem, but comp connetcted to modem is too weak 4 spring, so i use comp connected to comp with net.
It looks like that: Comp w/ spring ---ethernet--- comp working as router ---ethernet--- cable modem ---cable--- .
I have priv ip 10.xxx.xxx.xxx on net, and 192.168.0.x on subnet.
I tried to host on router comp, but with same effect.

Windows 2000 used a new kernel system that was much more stable and had better security than previous versions. That marked a big change in the widnows core system, as for one ti was a heck fo a lto harder to crash the system, it eliminated problems where one prog crashes every prog crashes, better driver handling etc. Windwos ME is the pinacle of Microsofts idiocy and bad coding. ME is the worst operating systemr eleased by Microsoft, even programs that run udner 98 95 XP and 2000 might ahve trouble working on ME, some hardware specifically avoids using ME altogether.
If you encounter ME, and you cant upgrade to 2000 or XP, you're better off downgrading to 98 than you are staying with ME. It's cursed OS, horrible evil work of the devil.
I didnt changed system coz extremely annoying and bad thing - i cant use system better than win me (no xp, no linux)! It seems to be mainboard bug. On my router comp i can use all systems normaly, but its too slow to play ta, and even to use xp normaly (it has 850 mhz, real minimal req. [to use xp without long waiting to start anything] is about 1500).
Even more heresy, I used XP proffesional on my old computer for 5 years, and that comp had 128 SDRAM 380Mhz cpu with the blue graphics turned on and not runnign in classic theme mode, and it actually ran well compared to my 1400+ Duron computer.. And I've seen it run on a 244Mhz too.
Go get Windwos XP SP2A Bare edition, you'll need a legal copy of XP to justify using ti but you'll eb abel to shove those minimum requirements down even further to min RAM of 32MB and a min of somewhere around 800MB hd space. That version ahs been stripepd fo all the none esential stuff, ti doesnt even have Media player or the themes and a lot fo uncommon drivers torn out, the instalelr itself is onyl 200MB iso image uncompressed.
And no i was runnign a full version on my old computer with my ancient 4MB trident graphics card, it took around 2 minutes to startup to logon screen then a mintue to laod but it worked and it played TA.

Im waiting 4 linux port, coz i dont have legal xp, and its huge waste of cash, when i can borrow cd and install 4 free. I will wait 4 longhorn, and then buy comp with it. I know win me is shit, but its more stable than 98! It crashes often, but a little less than 98.
I think my comp crashes w/ linux, coz linux uses hyper threading. Win me does not. I will try to run linux w/o support 4 ht, apic and other things that win me cant use.
