Hopefully it is better than the newest Cypress Hill.

when i was a lot younger i mainly listened to metal

over the years though metal in general seems to have lost its edge, i can still enjoy my old metallica / slayer / iron maiden / sabbath stuff, but in general the stuff coming out these days (that i have heard at least) seems either to be borrowing a LOT from the old style, or just sort of watered down. slayer IMO has done the best job of "staying fresh" of the old guard

the reason i liked metal so much was the intensity; as my musical tastes matured i realized i was able to enjoy that aspect in other forms of music as well. that first rage against the machine album i think was what opened my eyes to the fact that i would be able to enjoy other things, and i bet you'll find something like that too eventually ;)

lol yeah i checked out some of the new cypress hill songs... pretty hurting. they totally dropped the ball after temples of boom

I had to come to terms with the fact that I might never be fully satisfied with a genre, band, album or song. After that, I was able to stretch out from my classic/soft rock basis.

I listen to metal, rock, alternative, classical, music from all over the world, art music, opera, and I'm sure that there's some other songs that I'm not certain as to what genre it should be put into.

Bob, thanks for pointing me toward Utah Phillips, reminds we of the Burroughs/Kerouac et al. I was kinda expecting Ani to kick off with some uber feminist lyrics part way thru :P

Im listening to one of the most underrated albums of the 90s
