multiplayer trouble

when i join a match online the game crashes and notifies me that i need to insert the disk. do i have to run it on a virtual drive to work?

also when trying to play single player with bots in the lobby when the game starts it automatically says after 5 seconds of playing that i have won the game and forces me to exit. why is this i have set all the teams fine and the AI is working.

do you own a legal copy of the TASpring disc? :evil:

for the singleplayer game, it is most likely that either the AI failed to initialize (eg, AAI without the required mod config file). or you and the AI are in the same ally-team, though you said, this is not the case.

please post the infolog.txt of such a game vs AI as file attachment to your next post.

Tip: for BA, try using KAIK, as it needs no config file, and runs quite stable.

Maybe Spring shouldn't include AIs. I've said this about widgets as well. AIs are mod specific and often widgets are too. Modders know which AIs and widgets they really like and include them in their games. Spring doesn't distribute mods so it shouldn't distribute AIs and widgets. It just causes confusion when random users try to use a widget or AI in their local installation with a random mod that breaks it.

that is not the solution. the outcome of this would be, that AIs are much harder to get for the user. the solution is, and mod and AI devs have already agreed upon this, to have white listing (details of this have been discussed already), and let the lobby show good AIs first, and .. eg en green, and un-whitelisted ones in red, at end of list.. or something like that. just needs to be done.

Thx guys for all your help i can now play single player :-)

also just wanted to ask is there any other AIs that specialize in curtain tactics such as sea battles or air attack :?:

crazy dave, i would not say about tactics, but just handling unit types. RAI can play air & naval as well. E323AI can play air.

can E323AI play air very well i love the way planes on ta dog fight :-)
