NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT graphics card causes Comp to crash

So whenever I run Spring, I can usually get a few minutes of gameplay in, but then my graphics card crashes which causes my computer to crash, and I have to go through an hour of startup repair to get it running again. The graphics card name is in the title. When the computer crashes, the screen is covered in a pattern of thin multicolored rectangles. Windows Vista error report reports this as the graphics card crashing, but then again it is Vista so god knows what it might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't play my favorite game

I have a comp with exactly that gfx card. It has no problems spectating full game of BA and NOTA (checked it with replay on BA 7.12 and NOTA 1.63)

Latest drivers for the card are installed.
