I've played with Decimator, Spiked, FLOZi, Coresair, Journier, Bruce and a handful of others in the hours I've scraped together for this game. I'm still enjoying it - horrible deaths aside - and I apologize for dragging it out those two extra minutes after you all died.

I'm mostly playing this and Killing Floor these days.

Tried it; decent timewaster. Once I got in with a group of speedrunners, it was awesome: < 2 minute missions FTW, though we never quite got the achievements. They showed me the fine arts of flame-and-flee and PDW/Chainsaw door-busting.

Just back from my first AS game. I'm a bit disappointed by how easy and short it was. We were on normal, and I was with some experienced #b members, but still, I understoodd neither the interface nor the team mate talking, I was on the phone half the time, and yet I died only once and we finished the whole campaign under one hour.

Sure, that new AS has more variety in its aliens, and probably in its weaponary too (though I haven't got them all, I used only minigun, and assault rifle once). But the old AS was more thrilling. And there's little graphical difference between old and new, considering the 6 years difference.

I'll probably compare the two graphically at a later point, but if you enable first person mode, you'll pretty much be playing Left 4 Dead using the Source engine, and the level of detail is - according to the players I've asked who've played both the original and this - an order of magnitude higher when it comes to the environment.

The campaign was fairly short and easy, and I agree there isn't enough initial content. On the other hand, you're experienced with the game type and that is probably as important as the interface. I'm waiting on more content before a judgment, it seems like they rushed the release as soon as it was fairly stable, and I know the SDK is supposed to lure modders into creating new maps.

Some american ran away without me and I got killed,
he then called me moron, douchbag or something like that, some typical american word.

Cant those people hang themselves instead of whining into their headsets?
Online gaming its so annoying you have people yelling in your ear and you cant punch them in the face. :|

Played some more, on hard it's harder. That heal gun kept running out of ammo on the last level, and we had three or so wipe before completing it (with half the team dead). And how many time do I have to complete the campaign over and over to finally unlock all weapons?

I probably should have put the Source statement in parenthesis. Let me clarify; I was trying to say that it is the same basic game as L4D using the same engine with a different camera view. There are some added elements such as flames and weldable doors, as well as deployable/activated items but these aren't key to the experience. I'm not up for playing it every time people invite because I'm often at the office and frankly, one campaign of content isn't keeping me engaged.
