Re: Ugh why do I see nano spray everywhere now.

Sometimes in the groggy state right after waking up, I'll realize I have a DSD game playing in my head. It's fucking weird.
But also kinda cool....

Once while stepping into the shower years ago, the battle music to the first gen Pokemon games was playing in my head. It took me a few moments to pull together and realize I was in fact not battling Pokemon.
It is a weird feeling. Cool link to the Tetris thing.

years ago, when I played BA, I had terrible dreams about base building. Lines and lines of solars...
Re: Ugh why do I see nano spray everywhere now.
I also used to walk around with the silent hum of an Adv Fusion in my head.

I once dreamed about spring "oh no must build more solar collectors, oh no doesnt help".
Then I woke up and had a massive stomach pain and realised that I probably didnt take a dump all day.

It seems this only works with very simple games and if you play very long.aegis wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

I would experience this after playing long long games for age of empires 2. I would hear the sound that the siege workshop makes when you click on it, the sound of boats waking, and the battle trumpet.

Because you're playing the wrong game? ;p
Re: Ugh why do I see nano spray everywhere now.
Dreaming about games is pretty normal, but...
I used to see the cursor in any white noise after playing Spring too much. No kidding, it even animated, and switched to guard mode/attack mode cursor randomly. It had colors too, although the white noise i was staring didnt have colors, so it was just in my mind
Anyone else had same?
I actually had to stop playing one game because i started to see dreams about it every night and those dreams really made me stressed up. Now i play it only few times a day, if even that... Not too much or i start seeing the dreams again :/
Although, i think the more experienced you get in the game, the less you keep seeing the dreams about the game, since you solved the puzzle now, and you continue working from your memory when you play; thus, use less brain power...

I get this effect from any activity i do enough, no matter how complex it is (define complexity? is chess complex?) I would say the more complex the game is, the easier i get this effect since my brain gets stuck on the problem i couldnt solve. Mostly when i see dreams about such things, they are less or more nightmares, they stress me up, and i hate seeing those dreams...Machete234 wrote:It seems this only works with very simple games and if you play very long.aegis wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

Re: Ugh why do I see nano spray everywhere now.
colleges at university were reporting:
1. when playing too much Counter Strike - they did that in all the small breaks: on the way home, he ran into cover whenever a bird flew by, cause he though its a hand grenade or a flash-bang ("fire in the hole!").
2. (other one) when looking at reality, he sometimes thinks it is unrealistic (eg, too low resolution).
what i had so far:
once, i saw a flock of birds landing on a few bushes in the forest, while not wearing my glasses. that had something very unrealistic to it, that made me thing about if it is really real.
about the dreams thing:
i did not have any problem like this when i was younger, but with age it came:
i can not do coding and/or gaming for hours, and then go right to bed. i need to relax the brain first, watching a movie going outside for some time, reading or something or writing emails to friends. if i do not do that, my brain is to concentrated still, on solving abstract puzzles. it is kind of in computing mode, and when closing my eyes and trying to sleep, it will go on.. usually trying to solve coding stuff, or playing the game.. or working on other problems i faced through the day. but it will not ever be able to solve anything in that state.. it will just not relax and "work" endlessly, until you wake up the other day and feel like you just spent a full day coding/gaming. the only thing that helps then, is to get up again and watch a movie or something, no matter how late it is, or how tired you are.

Re: Ugh why do I see nano spray everywhere now.
If you spend alot of time and concentration on something, your brain will prioritise it because you're telling your brain its important.
So your brain will keep processing information about it and internalising it.
I used to dream about Red Alert, I still remember a particularly vivid one of mammoth tanks firing missiles and crushing the puny allied medium tanks.

Had this dream last night where there was a toilet lever on the wall and when I held it down the lights came on in my -------.
Re: Ugh why do I see nano spray everywhere now.
I had this with Total Annihilation, I used to play it for hours, and when I tried to sleep, the game just continued playing, it drove me crazy, because I couldn't make it go away. It felt so real.
