White Texture Problem

Post by Jazcash »

So whenever I play a few certain maps, they appear completely untextured and white.

Here's some pix:

It only happens on a few maps. The maps that it's happened to me so far on are: Nuclear Winter, Xenolithic and Altair Crossing. I've been trying to figure what's similar between these maps to find if there's something in them causing it. I haven't been able to think of anything so maybe a mapper would be able to figure it out.

My system specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series - 1920*1200

I just upgraded to the ATI 10.4 Driver to see if it would make any difference, it didn't.

Yup. Gotta be something common between them that causes this, surely.

Oh and it probably happens with many more maps, these are just the maps it's happened to me on in actual games, haven't bothered going through map list testing them all.

Every map but the maps listed works as normal until further notice. DSD does work. So does Tabula, Meath, Comet, Talus and most others.

Didn't work, and neither did anything else. I have 2 SpringSettings profiles, one with minimum settings for performance and one with maximum settings for graphics. Both have the same problem so I'm pretty sure it's nothing in SpringSettings.

I made him a spring build with detailtex disabled and it doesn't have the problem.

Aegis told me to rename detailtex.bmp to make it unused. I did. Everything went back to normal. I was happy. Aegis was partially happy and partially not because I sucked time from his busy schedule by allowing him to make Spring builds for me.

so my question: why does a file sitting in the maps folder override that filename in all maps? :<
