I use blender and gimp only since one month, so it just a train, I want to play with in spring 1944 and I will share with them if they want.

No. The model is fine. Of course i recalculated normals the first time, which is why it looks identical. No i did not resize it after i recalculated normals. Yes the normals are fine, look at the thing, the white is eye-blindingly white if the normals were screwed it would be dull (im actually using glow for that though, so, well).

Yes the smoothing groups are messed up but thats because they were never set so auto smoothing groups are fine.

Yeah this model again, so sue me.

Halberd!

Needs more differentiation, im thinking a backpack with glowy or rotating bits (It is a cloaker) and a big shield on the other arm. Perhaps square or oddly shaped shoulders. Maybe change the texture this time, like glowy bits in the seams to show its cloaky. Also, probably energy halberd with fat blue lups trails.

Why does a glaive wield a halberd and not a glaive?

Clearly, the glaive is the one with the gun, this is the halberd.

Actually i never liked the name 'glaive' and didnt pick it so there you go. He will always be the spherebot to me.

I like where you're going with it, but you're right - there are some issues with the texture. The details on the feet and the weapon will be indistinguishable at distance, and the unit as a whole is rather dark. Some bright areas might help, but more intense highlights on the present skin could also be useful. She looks dichromatic, and while that can work, a third or even fourth significant colour in the mix - if used in a controlled manner - should improve both visibility and character.

I'm looking forward to seeing the next iteration.

its that the cylon resurrection ship inspired building thing from the other thread?

Also a great example of how you don't need a ton of polies for awesome details. The texture makes it appear to have much more polygon details then it really has.
