Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
Rule of thumb for web design is to keep the site usable at 800x600 because a lot of people browse windowed at that resolution.
Your website isn't designed for large monitors, it's designed for blind people. There's no sane reason to make fonts that large and I'm not sure you realize HTML allows you to make your design scalable so it's always the size of the screen.
If you want to attract staff "get a better screen" is the wrong attitude, the customer will not adapt to your product, the product must adapt to the customer. Otherwise it WILL fail.

Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
Hey hey!!! I don't ask for your kindness! This is 2010 not 1990! More people is going over to new technology & all demand a samsung wide screen or similar screen! My ideas are to do it right now & not mod the site for years coming!forest_devil wrote:mine is wide-screen. you wont get any help if your rude and demand people make there lifestyle fit your product. its a stupid idea.

No Sucky, the size is not the problem, you fail. The problem is the 1024*600. I have a 10" 1280*768 netbook.Sucky_Lord wrote:Jazcash wrote:isn't very screen size friendlyThats your problem right thereJazcash wrote:10"
Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
The majority of growth in the PC sector is in net books and other small lightweight machines. Mobile phones with working web browsers are in the middle of a popularity explosion, and a lot of people open web pages in non maximised windows so they can have two up side by side.
It's more important than ever that your site scales, my suspicion is not that you disagree with this, but rather that you dint know how to do it so your disagreeing anyway to avoid this.

About that, the netbook monitor says its for a 1024*768, yet, the graphics card only allows a max of 1024*600 pixelsCarRepairer wrote:Jazcash wrote:Site isn't very screen size friendly, takes some effort to look through on my 10", 1024*600 netbook. No Sucky, the size is not the problem, you fail. I hope you know how to solder.Jazcash wrote:About that, the netbook monitor says its for a 1024*768, yet, the graphics card only allows a max of 1024*600 pixelsI don't suppose there's any way to make the card force a resolution?
Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
Very funny very! There is a tools name mod! so stop Mod my site! nobody thinks your cool
Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
Wow. My 1680:1050 screen can't show the entire intro page on full screen... :S
I suggest you study some literature on web design if you aim for wider audience than FFF (family, friends and fools) - and you do, why else announce it here at all?

Ever heard of smartphones? I'd wager they shape the future of web design more than huge ass screens.xzalion wrote:Eagle Lore is modern! So i focus on that That's why it's in such resolution.

xzalion: I would really suggest you take some time and learn how to make html pages from scratch. (ie. notepad++ or something similar) It's not very hard at all. Learn what all the different tags do, and think about how you can make the site easy to use for *everybody*. I never ever browse the internet with a fullscreen browser -- even though i have an ok screen (1680x1050). Most people here are actually trying to help -- if you'd take some of their advice I can assure you you'd be better off.
If you decide to aim for a smaller audience, you will attract the attention of far fewer people. Not everybody has huge monitors and even less browse fullscreen.
You can use a single pixel width gradient and duplicate it horizontally to get the same effect as a huge image but with a fraction of the bandwith.
It is very unprofessional to have "under construction" or "no content yet" style notifications. The whole purpose of a website is to serve content. If you don't have any then you don't need to put up a website.
There are just so many trivial things you could do to make your site better, let alone an overall design (which can be a real challenge)
Anyway, it's up to you to decide to take advice or not. But I won't give any more if you aren't going to take it.

Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
I'm moving this to off-topic so the discussion can flow.
Re: Xzalion's final return!!!
had to zoom out twice to view the page @ 1680x1050
if you want to cater to people using widescreens, make the aspect ratio of the site 5:3 rather than 4:3
but yeah make a scaling design. always test your site at 800x600. smartphones and small portable devices are the future of the internet
there's a question of credibility; when people see a less-than-optimal site design, they're a lot less likely to invest money in the product sold there. at this point, if i were an impartial viewer with no prior knowledge of you, i would probably not buy a product, just because the website looks shady. i realize this is just an early version though, im sure it will improve
let us know when the t-shirts are ready
