That's the issue. A lot of people use this board with the thought that it relates to everything Spring related when it should really be focused upon the engine and engine development. The fact that boards for mapping, modding, lobbies and such just causes people to think that it's a general Spring forum (Which it currently might as well be).

This means boards like "Development" which aren't defined clearly trick people into thinking it means general development, not engine specific.

One way to start is by properly sorting out the forum. What I suggest:

This is just the just of my idea of what the forum boards should look like. Notice no help and bugs boards. This would force people to use bug reporting systems like mantis which is the preferred system I believe.

I think the help and bugs board should be replaced by a 'report bug' board that redirects to the tracker. Yes, it is possible.

Actually, if the forums were set up the way jaz suggests, then things would be a lot easier from a multitude of aspects, one of which is news reporting.

Sure, you might think it's "stupid" but as we speak, a conversation is unfolding in parallel on this subforum about solar-powered Sumos. I'm just suggesting that something needs to be done.

get over it. this section is very slow as it is and most ideas posted here are good, whether they are mod-specific or not. If they are unfit they can be moved, it's not like it'll take constant supervision or anything.
