It wasnt planned weeks in advance if thats what you mean, but you can clearly see that he thought about making the legitimate save and went for the illegal save instead. I am not impressed suarez, not impressed at all..

Be as unimpressed as you like but I'm sure he's a God in Uruguay right now. Also, maybe the Vuvuzellas will shutup a bit more now.

if the rules of the game let it happen then it is a legitimate stratergy- he is clever for exploiting the stupid red card system, and I fully expect other teams to do this shit until the rules are improved

If the penalty shot had gone in, how many would still be complaining though

Looks like Argentina have lost to Germany. Argentina's defence is just looking so poor.

Edit: Wow 4-0 again.

Uruguay v Netherlands had some absolute stunners. Hopefully Germany v Spain will be just as good. I'm thinking Germany will get through to the final and win it.

Last half and then the orange will either vanish or explode.

(I laughed when I realise the Dutch honer the Spanish king in their national anthem, in stead of the divided Spaniards whom don't have lyrics at all.)

Holland were robbed, but the ref was being lenient towards them throughout the game, so i do believe spain deserved to win :)

The ref wanted spain to win and the last goal was offside.

no, watch again

How the fuck were Holland robbed of anything, Spain was clearly playing better. The ref was decent too it was the game that was awfully scrappy. Of course he wasn't perfect, but thats football.

They were robbed a World Cup record for most players sent off during the Final.

Holland deserved to fail for all the fouling they did. Not to mention the stroppiness of the players...

Spain kept quite cool imo and played fairly consistently.

Either you're blind or didn't pay attention at all. Offside is measured at the time the ball is kicked, not when it's caught. The scoring player was several meters in front of the defenders when the ball was passed to him.

Still, the corner was rather obvious previously... I was amazed they didn't give it. Still, the whole championship had bad referee decisions. (goals not given, off-sides, player simulate foul).

They should use technology. I don't watch usually but with everybody doing it, I did this championship. Big mistake. You watch 2 hours and then some stupid referee that doesn't look at a damn replay will give a wrong decision... Is this gambling or what?

I do think of all the matches i watched, the referee in the final was the best. He had a bloody hard time of it, because as the commentators were saying; holland should be playing with 8 against spain's 10. But the ref understood that this would lead to pathetic gameplay, so he was more lenient, less willing to send players off, and didnt give as many free kicks, so that the game was more continuous.
