by lowering the brightness and adding some orange (more red less green) the tank and rifle muzzle flare sfx i think they become much more flame like in appearance:

Those are very pretty. Do you think the big flashes produced by tanks, say in ba with bulldogs is too cartoony for s44?

If anything, it's a bit understated, although it would be very hard to pull off with CEG.

IRL, being anywhere near a tank cannon's barrel when it fires can be lethal. Heck, plenty of people have been killed or seriously injured by the backwash from "bazooka" types of portable rocket launchers.

FLOZi, stop it on the frames where the 88 fires (it's maybe 1-2 frames). Not quite as dramatic as the 120, but it's pretty dramatic- the exhaust gasses (the fireball) is maybe 1.5 width of the gun carriage, based on distance from the POV. I'm sure that the 30-60mm stuff wasn't so showy, ofc.

The 88 (even the L/56) is one of the largest guns of the period though, not just in calibre but in the size of the cartridge (and how 'hot' the cartridge is).

But yeah, S44 CEG's could use some love. Feel free to help out, I'm busy trying to fix a million and one script and lua bugs.

Yes please... I have noticed that I hate CEG, haven't tried P.O.P.S. yet but willing to give it a try If there are advantages to using in.

Its important to realize those injuries stem from two entirely different forces. Injuries from "bazooka" type weapons typically stem from plumes of extremely hot, high velocity exhaust gases. Whereas injuries from standing near artillery typically comes from what is known as "over pressure".

Contrary to most perceptions of explosives, over pressure is what kills the majority of people. Secondary injuries stem from shrapnel. Over pressure typically causes internal injuries which can range from crushed inner ears to crushed lungs and bladders.

The reason I make these distinctions is because hand held weapons are specifically designed to limit overpressure. Otherwise, firing the weapon would place an expiration date on its users. Though firing such weapons from enclosed spaces can still be extremely lethal to all within the confined space.
