Have you ever try QT?

Post by Torrasque »

I'm learning QT now (it's a portable multi-librarie, and gpl). http://www.trolltech.com

And it seem to be a really cool library. It's working on a lot of different system.
It has lib for pretty much ever things, gui, net, thread, picture, sql, zlib etc..
It has some tool to easly translate application.

Someone know if it it could be good to begin to program a game like Spring with this? Only this lib would be needed. And everythings is more normalised.

Any comment from some more or less experienced guy?
I'm perhaps a bit optimistic, but I just begin to work with it, and it seem very powerfull.

edit: oh, and the documentation is very good : http://doc.trolltech.com/4.0/index.html

By having a quick glance at the documentation, there is a Free GNU GPL version of it, and a commercial one that costs. If you use the free one, your work must be released under the GNU GPL or equivelant, while with a commercial licence, you can sell your software, and keep it private.
