Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
in SD i know it does not download the mods in .sd7 format, now suppose i want to uninstall a mod when the newest release comes out, how would i go about doing that? because the files are just kind of everywhere in my spring directory it seems kind of confusing to know what is ok to delete? am i missing something or is there an easier way of removing a mod downloaded from SD?
thanks again

Mods not available in rapid system are still downloaded as usual archives.sellerman122 wrote:in SD i know it does not download the mods in .sd7 format
SD can't delete mods.
The rapid system uses files in pool and packages folder. For a workaround you can delete files in package folder and SD will redownload the ones for the latest version. That should be fast. No need to touch pool folder.
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
a good request though, SD and Tobis rapid client should support removing versions (if they do not yet).
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
Detailing which mods you would like to keep and having an option to clean the package pool of unneeded files would be a useful addition
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
an "export to sd7" would be great too :)
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
i do not think that is needed.
the file-name of that sd7 would often differ from the one directly downloaded as sd7 (or maybe sdz), if that exists too. additionally, you would either end up with two different archives for the same mod, or you would loose the pro of rapid (fast update), in case the rapid version would be deleted on export.

Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
I don't think they would sync either
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
they should sync, as rapid and sd7 already sync now.
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
This can already generate .sdd for you. Only tiny step to make sd7 from that.
Note: if you're on Windows you may first have to fix some small things in the package, as I've never tested it on Windows yet.

Aha that is refreshing news ^_^
Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
The trouble with removing certain versions as I found out is that through rapid you don't download full versions of what you download, only what is needed and changed. The system then uses the older stuff that didn't change and still worked, and has it packaged under one pool.
This makes version deletion rather hard. However, I would support if there was a way to divide the pool into mods in the future.

Re: Uninstalling a mod through spring downloader
i guess you mean, generating full archives out of the pool?
and yes, deleting single versions by hand is quite hard; it would need support by the tools (which would be much better then the export to full archives, in my eyes).
edit: at least Tobis tool supports that already (unpin <tag> + uninstall-unpinned, if i get it right).

Yeah, if the deletion is just about getting rid of unnecessary items in the menus in lobby and Spring then this is the way. It doesn't touch the pool however.hoijui wrote:edit: at least Tobis tool supports that already (unpin <tag> + uninstall-unpinned, if i get it right).
