Alantai Decoder (current version 2.4)

Post by Zenka »

Spring's #1 flamer Alantai Firestar's typing is as bad as my spelling.
So to increase reading pleasure in both our (or any) blogs, I present: AD.

Link to site: http://lassie.student.utwente.nl/vliet/ad.html

Version 2.4
greatly increased database.
now includes capital and punctuation support.
CSA (Sprigmn -> Spring) included. It took me all day, but it works!

It now reached a stage where it is better readable then Alantai's blogs.
(This wasn't the case before, since it removed all punctunation)

And suggestions, updates and bugs should be posted in this threat.

excellent, the world finally has a chance of understanding Alantai (a chance, but given his usual topics, not a big one).
Any chance of us getting a Kixxe decoder in the near future?

I'll continue extending AD (correcting words with extra chars and missing chars, and misplaced spaces). Afther that I shall look to errors other people make. aGorm already requested a decoder for his blogs. Kixxe's typing isn't that bad, but most typo's will be corrected.

whoa I'm approaching the 3000 mark? I make much mroe than 6 posts per day...

I tried this and got an error message, soemthign todo with no being able to initialize the borland database engine.

If you want I can rumage through adn fidn ym MSN Plus config file, that has hudnreds of misspelt words that I commonly misspell on msn.

such a file would be lovely. And I'm working on the error thingy.

edit: Well I've isolated the error. AD is missing the alias to the database. Such thing must be created individually with a program such as Borland Database desktop or so.

edit edit: yey, it's fixed!

And just what's that suposed to mean?

My spelling is pretty good. Wasen't before, but now it is. Okay, fine, i migth roll around and in the end bring up pretty stupid, useless, and newbish points while i'm rambling a half A4 worth of text about some strange bloke who wants some strange feature inplented and think he's gonna get flamed like min3mat on english tests, but still. :-)

If a decoder would exsist to me, it would transfear all the valeubole information, make extremly weird metafors, and make bad jokes that stupid pepole laugth at because it's so silly. it would also misspell important long words, while most "common" words would be left perfectly okay. ´

OMFG HIDDEN MESSGAGE IN POST, FIND AND GET COOKIE!

min3mat can't spell! Yesh, Ohmygosh!

And just what's THAT suppose to mean?
You're saying I can't make a decoder for you without ripping your wordvalue to bits? Now you've done it. (btw you typed "the" instead of "that", noway any dedocer of mine is going to correct grammar, but still)

Just to show you, I've corrected the starting-error. It required a freaking installshield thingy. (luckely this was brought along on the Delphi 7 CD). It now takes up 10.5 MB  But it works!

Well, can't teach you Delphi in one reply. But the source is now on the site (also in the new install). unrar the stuff and open AD2.dpr in Borland Delphi 7 (or higher),(GExperts is an open source compiler, haven't tried it yet, but it was google's rift hit). Then hit F9, there ya go.

or did I misinterpeted your question totally

I could teach myself deplhi but I wouldnt know howto get from a delphi source to a compiled executable.

Where would i get delphi 7, are there any free versions? And do I get an IDE with that other free compiler you mentioned?

With a closer look: GExperts isn't a compiler but tools for Delphi.
(IDE tools that is).
You can get a trial of Delphi 2005 here: http://www.programmersheaven.com/zone2/cat514/
As for compiling to an *.exe, when you run the proggram (by F9 or Run>Run) it automaticly makes an *.exe in the directory where the project is saved. also you can use Project>Build <Current name here>. In both cases the *.exe files are stored next to the project files.

Edit: Yey, version update. long live Install shield for over-saving the project so I had to do the changes in the code twice.

Updated to v2.3

Now with the CSA (Character Similarity Algorithm)
It corrects extra or missing letters (Sprimn\ Sprig -> Spring).
AD is now, however, somewhat slower (composated by improved database. It doesn't have put all the words in alphabetical order every querry)

It now is better readable then Alantai's text. So it actually is usefull. (not really)

v2.4

Thank you Alatnai for the MSNplus database.
Now AD is better then ever (this is suppose to be said every new version of every project).

Afther long research in PNR (Prime Number Generator) a project that me and a friend of mine just finshed, I came to the conclusion that a program runs 98% faster when he is not displaying at work.
To include that in AD, the databasegrid is hidden while decoding. so no fancy phisical search through the grid. but a blink. This makes AD go much and much faster.

omg, tripple post, slap me.
