Sounds like a $2000 loss!xzalion wrote:Look. I don't care what you say. I pay $ 2000 for the coder & there is more. I have money to play with so what you all say i frankly don't give an grap.
Re: Small Projects!
Frankly, loss for loss, I prefer that he gives the $ 2000 to his wannabe coder friend that to blow it on the roulette.
Re: Small Projects!
Wow, the scorn squad is out in force. Stop pouncing on new modders, they can't act like spring engine pros from day 1. Being hostile won't help them, it will just sap their motivation.
Ideas are so much more valuable than the implementation. It's easy to do a boring mod. It's really hard to do a fun one.

Re: Small Projects!
The point is we have too many ideas and not enough implementation, regardless of which is more valuable. I consider implementation more valuable anyway as it's pretty easy to come up with a good idea and 95% of a project is implementation, not thinking of ideas.quantum wrote: Ideas are so much more valuable than the implementation. As long as the freedom to think exists there will always be new ideas, there's probably about 1 developer to every 10 people with ideas in this community

Re: Small Projects!
xzalion, instead of just coming here and telling us what you're planning to do you should ask where to get started (if you haven't started) and then ask questions about specific things.
Re: Small Projects!
Just because he did not know what we wanted to see, not many people will who are new to the spring community do, does not give anybody an excuse for driving off a potential game developer.

He knew exactly what we wanted to see, showed us some, and then quickly removed them in case somebody stole them...Coresair wrote:Just because he did not know what we wanted to see

Re: Small Projects!
Can we have this thread stickied please? It perfectly shows how aw3s0m3 and l33t the spring community is.
Maybe we can get other newbies to avoid this site in the first place so we dont have to feel ashamed so often about being part of the spring community.

Re: Small Projects!
Oh please do not flame the flamers now?
On the other hand is emmanuel banned, at least he has done anything? (anything at all)
This guy just made a thread or 5, maybe without ever having tried a spring game, talks about his totally unique (really!) ideas then post blabla about his company and having 2000$ to spend.
Well, he did not even really talk about his ideas just said he has some. It basically was I AM ANNOUCUNING MAAH MOD and then...silence.
@xzalion:
sorry, that is just what it looks like for me. Maybe your posted screenshots were actually good. I did not see them before you deleted them. How would someone that worked for you know that you do not cancel the whole thing after a few days and his time was wasted?

Re: Small Projects!
Sorry, but it gets really annoying after 3 or 4 days of constant flaming of this poor soul. The sad thing is there are very few other threads that get as much attention as the lets-flame-the-noob-threads (and there are plenty of it).knorke wrote:Oh please do not flame the flamers now?
I think I have to agree to this facts. But its not about WHAT was said, its about HOW it was said.knorke wrote:This guy just made a thread or 5, maybe without ever having tried a spring game, talks about his totally unique (really!) ideas then post blabla about his company and having 2000$ to spend.
