Re: Small Projects!
You seem to mean well, so I'm going to give you a few hints on how to behave on forums.
A) Don't say Hello, Greetings or anything like that
B) Don't sign the end of your posts, ie

C) Keep the number of threads you make to a minimum, I understand you might be wanting to keep the topics seperate, but at the moment it's just looking like you're spamming.Best of Regards

Have you even made one game in your life?
Or is your skill set limited to playing games and fantasying about making one?

Even after inverting the U and A, I can't google it. Do you have any links, vids or screenshots? I'm curious to see what it was like. What genre, what platform, what language or engine?xzalion wrote:Yes. I made one "called Ghost Wars - Earth Assualt"
LoL, no, spammers are very formal, because that gives the appearance of respectability. It would sound like an spammer if there is nothing like that in
Re: Small Projects!
respect != accept everyone the way he is
if i like to eat little children, would you invite me to your home and accept me as i am?
What Bruce wrote are rules that apply to everyone in this community, for the good of the community. it is nothing but bad manner to not accept these rules, if you want to be among us. it is like bringing beer and getting drunk when invited at a Muslim family dinner. it is disrespect, and serves as an indication for how well you may work together in a team. it was not a personal attack to you.
edit:
greetings & goodbye make sense in a hand written letter.
in a machine written letter or email, it is done cause peoples brains are lazy to think over new concepts. in a form, it there is not only this week argument. nobody will get a warm feeling if you copy&paste some text before and after your posts. and if you do not copy&paste it, it makes no difference.
it wastes space and reading time of other people, it is an anti-favor.
maybe you do not understand that this is a mainly Europe & North America based community. you can not arrive and say a few nice words and be friends with everybody. you should lay out your plans in a cold/technical way, and show progress, as much as your own policy allows.
Of course you can again decide to not do that, and do it your way, but you can not await that the community to adapts to you (and it will not happen). you will be treated as you have been treated so far, in a rather negative way.

Re: Small Projects!
Nothing wrong greeting and saying hello, although it usually is more regular in mails. This is a forum.
So feel free to do it, but dont find it insulting if some people gets irritated of it.
Overall you seem like a nice and polite person. Nothing wrong with that people so dont judge him because of that!
What I'd like to focus on this, instead of your language, is the way you approach the issues. I just simply dont understand what you are after. What is your goal? You want to make a game? Sure it's possible... You want someone to make a game for you? Not that easy... If you want to be a project leader, you need to have proper skills and premises for that. You need to have some proofs what you are and what you have accomplished. You need to convince people that join for your cause. And above all! You need to be ready to do something also!
We have tons of people here shooting out great ideas and requests but few people ready to do them...
Just having an idea or cunning enthusiasm to get money most probably wont get many people around you. More over, it feels like a hoax.

1) Great an indie game company - which i am alread busy with.
2) make an great 'RTS" that whould stood the test of time.
3) Feel at home here on the Spring Comminuty.
I have great ideas for games that i want to make. I have an Project that i whould love to make. It will be an simmilar game as those Empire Earth series? But set in the imperial age. With my calculations the project shall took about 2 - 3 years to make! But... it's too big! for an small group to make! At this point.
My proof is that i am an "Designer" I can do Storyline & UI / HUD & can do little bit of ART, but i will not say i am an expert in the ART section

Re: Small Projects!
Good. This tells us a lot more about you and your motives than just random post where you tell you got lots of ideas and things going on while everything else remains unclear. This kind of approach will also get you more gentile and nonaggressive responses. I think people feel a bit sceptic about you: weird english skills, different, unusual web behaviour, you talking about game developing and making money but not telling much about yourself or giving any concrete proofs or examples of your work and accomplishments.
So keep yourself open. this is "open" community. This is also open source engine, so first I suggest you to take a look into it. To see whether this is right platform for your games. Maybe first playing some games/mod made on it and then getting familiar with the developers and becoming friends like that. Make some contributions for the community. That is the way you gain our respect. After that you could start with your own projects and if people are interested they will join in. This is much about doing stuff by yourself. People here are making their own games and things but as soon as you gain the respect and interest people will follow you. This is grass roots activity...
Don't expect them to be enthusiased and fascinated by your words but your actions!

The button left under the minimap/radar makes me want to press it repeatedly for some reason. Looks good.xzalion wrote:Here is my proof of 1 UI Design that i made.

Using dots between EVERY letter looks stupid. "B.Y", really.
Also try to use the edit button instead of making 3 posts in a row.
