So after a rather sour playtest with my friends, I witnessed morph break. In a few ways. Here goes:

Apparently a morphed unit retains aspects from it's previous unit. My T1 shipyard builds on the left side. For no good reason, my T2 shipyard builds on the right side. When the T1 morphs to the T2, for some reason, it builds units (or tries to) on the left side, which is where the T1 shipyard built units. And, of course, the unit gets stuck in the yard and the factory is suddenly useless. I tested it, and a normally built T2 factory builds where it should. So, science tells me morph is the culprit.

And a rather weird (and frustrating) graphical error happened in this test. I provided screenshots.

As you can hopefully tell, these factories sort of turned inside out. That's the best way I can find to describe what happened. This happened with some of the factories that morphed from their T1 version to their T2 versions.

And finally, the morph gadget itself broke. No, I don't have an infolog. Forgot to save it. But I remember the infolog was referencing a problem concerning "stacking." My friends concluded the error message appeared when someone tried to morph a lot of units at once (like 10 or so). So can morph not handle several commands at once? And, despite the error message, the morph function continued to work. It's just that we got an error message, and, you know. Error's aren't good.

So there, that's what I have to say. And, I push on. How do I get the visual indication?

Yes, morph isn't great for factories. This is why IW and S44 use the upgrade gadget.

Ok, so upgrade. What do I need to know about upgrade? Is it just like a better morph or does it deal with different things?

It's very similar but handles the inside-out geometry and factory related issues.

You are using an old version. Get the latest version. The Cursed uses morph to morph factories without issues.

Or indeed, do that. 8) I figured whoever posted it originally would have grabbed the latest from CA, evidently not.

Went with the newer version of Morph, and I briefly tested it. It works, far as I can tell. Thanks for pointing out I had an older version. I got those files from the links Google_Frog provided, so those should probably be fixed... or something.

morphing is hard

sometimes when i grit my teeth and curl my toes up in my socks, i morph a little bit, but when i release, im back to normal. still a while to go for me too i guess

So I would really, really like someone to give me a hand in giving me some kind of indication a unit is morphing. A bar, ghosted image, anything. The widget Health Bars just has my whole unit pulse light blue and says its paralyzed, although it isn't.

This would be an enormous help. All the other morphs I see have some kind of visual indication, but for whatever reason, my morphs don't.
