Widget: Cloak Fire State

Post by KingRaptor »

Sets mobile units to Hold Fire when cloaked, reverts to whatever state they were before when decloaked.

v1.02: Fixed widget not functioning for 0.81.2.1 (replaced canmove with canMove).
Added list of exempt units; currently includes *A and S44 snipers.

caspring.org, springfiles (in case attachment is out of date/whatever)

Could you make one that makes all units cloak set to hold position too?

what the hell is the point of that

Also, would setting cloaked units on hold fire affect mines too?

I always set my cloaked units to hold position. It stops them firing at units and walking into them which gives away their position.

Why do you not set all your units to hold position?

Not sure why you want it since a unit on Hold Fire isn't going to attack other units and thus do any chasing, but here you go:

http://spring.pastebin.com/m4b2cd8c2
Hold pos when cloaked, Maneuver when decloaked.
(just copypasta the contents over the original widget)

If I get this, can I disable the dontshoot comm widget? i.e. will the comm be included under the umbrella of cloaked units re this widget?

Except that this widget doesnt play well with BA snipers, who are often wanted to fire even when cloaked.
Its basically for comms and gremlins, and maybe decoy comms.

I mainly like adv crawling bombs, parasites and cloakable fusions to stay cloaked.

Except that neither of those have real weapons to fire, so this widget does NOTHING to them.
Adv crawlie does more dmg on attack than on death.

I was talking about auto-cloaking units. But I don't like my crawling bombs walking into units like scouts and such.

Apparently 0.81.2.1 broke the widget and I didn't notice until a few days ago :(

Updated first post with new version (now supports exceptions). Can I get a Widget DB admin to update the version there as well?
