The review is a fucking abomination to read. For pre-pubescent kids, by pre-pubescent kids.
It contains 0 useful information, 50 "lol i quote stuff", and a hearty dose of teen angst combined with fake hip. Or if this is hip nowadays then shoot me.
Even the article seems dumb down to the point to occupy the time of an average bowel movement.

yeah.. the map looks nice!
also.. the path-finding and/or following is nice (though it was in 1 already), but .. don't they just do it through clever tricks, like.. units in formation keep at a distance, so they wont bump into each other when moving, which makes it look much better then what we have in BA eg.

the formations thing is horrible, I preffer the customformations of spring by a factor of 80 truzillion

Because they're both retreads of ultimately unsatisfactory titles, for me. Starcraft was fun when I was much, much younger, but it depends so much on APM and a narrow selection of options it has no lasting pull. Supreme Commander felt like a bland generic RTS with a balance model which did nothing to hold me.

I would like some new RTS from a new small developer, or some full Spring game release, much more.

at this point; games for me are very much "try before you buy". i cant be bothered spending my hard earned cash on something i'm going to enjoy for just a few hours.

and really, i think it will be impossible for starcraft 2 to live up to the massive hype and expectation that has been placed on it. too many cooks spoiling the broth; i've always felt that the very best ideas for games come from either a small group or a single person, which is why i feel the same way as neddie... a release of a new spring mod is infinitely more interesting because it hasnt been dumbed and watered down to the point where grandma can play...

too much branding involved with games these days. when the marketing department tells you what to make, you know you're in for some problems.

Spring doesn't have custom formations, it has fancy methods for issuing command targets in various shapes, but it cant hold a formation or manage it beyond assembly.

I find I can manage units in spring with a dexterity impossible in any other game.

what other game could I order 30 units to infinitely circle a target using three drags and one click, or get to advance in a line whilst regularly changing spread so to zig and zag to dodge projectiles?

yes, but will not be popular because:
-average player doesnt circle a target or dodge projeticles.
-"progamers" (starcraft etc) who see the use in that, want the interface to be as userunfriendly as possible for mad apm clickfests to do basic things like put units in a line.

better path-finding and -following and less units-blocking-each-other would benefit you also when using custom formations, its not one or the other.

The only good thing about supcom2 might be that its better optimized because it also has to run on that stupid xbox.
They must be crazy to release this on a console.

In that article the only interesting thing is the 90's box but then again what is it for?

both doing commentated replays or live recordings with commentaries. also they're both seasoned SC players so you get to see a bit more action than in the video bob linked.

hd's stuff is up to 1920x1080 in resolution while huskies videos are are in 1280x720, which is good enough anyway. highly addictive...
