Map/mod gadget conflict.

Post by Google_Frog »

As anything in the Apophis v2 thread will get buried I will repost here. I think the possibility of a naming conflict between gadgets included in a map/mod is a bug, things could break accidentally. Autoprefix the gadgets to prevent conflicts or expand the functionality of luaGaia and force maps to use it.

I dont think its a bug. It has valid uses. If a map overrides your mod and you dont like the results, dont play that map.

Whatever you say about that kind of overriding, you should still be using LuaGaia for 95% of the things you do.

No lets not get into that... You're missing the point. Anyway it's debatable as to whether gadget wars is a valid use.

Random user plays a random map with a random mod. The map maker accidentally happened to name one of the map's gadgets so it conflicts with the mod's gadget. Spring crashes/error spams due to inter-gadget activities and the user thinks spring sucks.
