TAS Client startup error

Post by Starcraftman »

I have been running spring on this computer for a while now, but only recently I started getting this error message (picture below) when I start up TAS client. I would have had it send an error report from here but I dont have an email client installed and I am too lazy to install one for a one time use. If I press ok TASclient starts but it wont connect to the "local" irc channel, although as far as I know everything else works (for now). I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, on a 2.8 GHz P4 and a ATI 9550. Everything that the error message contained is in the attached txt file.

The spring lobby protocol is not compatible with IRC,
and if you did not start a lobby server yourself on a system with DNS (CIFS?) name "local", then it can not connect to that.
i do not get what this has to do with the error message though.

i guess he is talking about the $local,

i'd recommend you to reset the layout, if it doesn't work, you can reset the whole tasclient registry (in the options -> program) and restart the lobby, if it still not fix it, you can remove the lobby dir and tasclient and reinstall it http://springrts.com/dl/tasclient/TASClientLatest.7z
