troublemakers

Post by Scratch »

is this forum PG13 or something ? compared to a year or so ago this place was great, now it looks like gestapo admin have stopped anything that even hints at looking like a flame, politically incorrect, sexist, racist, whatever. Destroys any real conversation, and has obviously ripped the life out of this forum.

oh well, if you people are so sensitive, just thought I'd drop in and say hi, things used to be better before you put 13 year olds in charge of this place that take offense at everything.

I was actually charged with an infraction for stating my opinion once in an 'over the top manner'!, lol, how far can you go in stifling free speech. two admins must have gotten mad over some harmless thing I said.

one thing that brings me to this point is how someone said to ban sefidel over being racist. i think you retards need to wake up and allow reality to have a place here. this forum has a reputation for juvenile moderation.

i will be surprised if this even stays an open thread.

I'm pretty sure 13 is the age they state when you create your account, however it has been some time since I registered.

You were warned for this post...

I consider it to be a disrespect towards Christ Taylor after he made the best RTS ever. It is the culmination of the ultimate pile of shit lumped into the greatest RTS engine showing how Chris really left a mark of genius into TA.

I would almost say that uttering the name of Kingdoms should be an unforgivable sin.
Which interrupted an otherwise civil thread and was the cause of considerable complaint. For some reason you were warned twice, which was a result of the defective moderator control panel not informing the second moderator that the first had acted, and that was unintended - I do apologize for the duplication. However, you were in violation of long-standing policy, as you were deliberately trolling an active topic and those participating in it. You could have said what you did in an equally poignant but less disruptive manner, just as I am presently setting you straight without attacking you.

As for your other allegations, a quick perusal of the off-topic forum reveals that in fact, most politically incorrect, racist or sexist content remains, though the last two as expressions of disruptive prejudice are against policy, and have been for years. If somebody is compelled to call another user a nigger or to assert that all homosexuals must be shot and this leads to general distress or localized disruption, they are in violation of policy and will be dealt with. This is not new.

Very few posts are edited or removed - of the last fifteen, eight were modified by their posters, one was modified for readability, two were spam posts by spambots, two were spam by human users, one was a direct violation of policy and one was a response to spam. Of the last five threads locked or deleted, two were spam threads placed by spambots, one was a retaliatory thread placed by a banned user, and two were closed by subforum moderators in their respective subforums. In fact, most moderation activity occurs after posts are reported by non-moderation users, and four in five reports are closed without any action being taken.

Any questions?

Well, the one whose age I know is 21, the others I couldn't say.
I like the way this forum has gone of late, it seems more productive and civil, if you want unrestricted forums full of "flame, politically incorrect, sexist, racist, whatever" posts then perhaps you should try an anarchist group forum?

Ah, an assertion of immaturity on the basis of dealing with immature behaviour in the increasingly consistent enforcement of policy? That makes very little sense.

First, the administrators form a bridge between the moderators and the developers. I assume you're actually asserting that the moderators, thus, are young. I can safely say that none of them are thirteen.

the only thing i am violation of is stating my opinion. you are putting an awful lot of interepration into something that just isn't there. I could have said it in an equally poignant but less disruptive manner, HOWEVER, I said exactly what I meant to say. why should I modify it? no one can post here with your over the top rules that can be interpreted any way you want to. and they don't.

yeah the line is thin with you people. rules are one thing interpreting what people said to be in violation of rules is up to some pretty gay people who when challenged will do unpredictable things, scaring posters into silence

thats my opinion, yes I called the people who warned me for that gay, because I feel that best describes them

any questions?

*edit and my mistake this topic is better off in off-topics, if you please.

At the risk of backseat moderation: after reading the post cited, basically the problem there is not what you said, but how you said it.

Remember, we're total strangers, not your drinking buddies. Show some discretion, delete the swearing, and remember that other people may like stuff that you thought was garbage, for reasons you may not relate to... and that's just how it is.

Actually, we have people registering at a higher rate, and posting has not dropped in your absence, so the data contradicts your assertions.

An old move rarely used now, but in my experience often an effective one. Not only that, but he claims to have experience dating back to the early times.

Guys, watch out: we could be dealing with an ancient master here. If you need me, I'll be in my action room.
