terragen can do them easily, just set aspect ratio to 1:1 and youre pretty much done

Edit: oh wait, you probably asked how to convert them into .DDS

well i hate to get to this topic again... but how the fuck did i do my skyboxxes? I try to replicate the process and they keep crashin the engine.

i want them to be 32bit not 16 bit and i used that goddamn nvdia-tool for photoshoop, and still... it wont work.

Please no more those tutoriallinks, most of them point to outdated tutorials telling me stuff i already know, concealing stuff i want to know, and throwin even more stuff thats completely irrelevant in MY FACE!
If you consider postin, please make it a answer, which point on the menu to hit. And yes, i tried a lot of things before, resulting in epic spring crashes.

If it wasnt for the workhours-

PS: AND YES, the maps run fine without the box, so pleaze, no scapegoats (map broke it!) :x :? :x

I did, resulting in a 16-bit skybox, that looked fu- not good enough.

i tried alot of stuff, some things twice and again and again, and it was hours of painfull try and error, and returning sometimes too

8:8:8:8 ARGB 32bit
Cubemap with MipMaps

It works now, i also reread your tutorial again smoth and it helped at least limiting the area of try and error, when i abandoned the attempts to get it going on a 2dtexture.
