Glass was full, you just added the last drop for it to spill.

This is a forum made for topical and engine debates including sharing and contributing to Spring. It's not a pretty sex gloss arena like you may wish. Colours add helpfulness to recognizing who people are and what they do. Although, I agree the colours should perhaps be a bit darker so they're easier to read.

It's not helpful, just attention whoring, but if that's what contributors want as a reward then sure enjoy having a sticker on your face.

Rather than colors, just a subtitle maybe? "such-and-such forum moderator" "BA developer", etc.

All the colors are just really ugly, keep one color for people who have the ability to ban so that people know to pay attention when told to shut up, and when to ignore them because it's just [Smoth / Bruce / AF / Jaz / someone I haven't offended lately].

Or two, similar, inoffensive colors. Green is OK and it's easily visible against background color, how about light green and dark green? Darker for moderators because they have no soul, lighter for administrators because they are the one true hope for all mankind.

Well, I'm considering using both titles and colours when I return to it.

the SVN Comitters group is kind of obsolete, as SVN is not (really) used anymore. a current engine devs group would maybe make more sense.

edit: am not missing ;-)

I like that purple. Kinky...

Edit: I just realised AF is purple too. Could you add these colours to the legend at the bottom of the forum index? I'd like to know why AF and others are so special.

On that note, active contributors and engine developers not a part of other groups would do well to apply to the Developers & Committers group and, upon approval, change their default group to such.

I think titles are a good idea that way peoplecan know who to ask about shit.

Or at the very least some titles explaining things. I would not mind having something on my nick to let people know I am willing to help.

Otherwise, I think moderators, lobby mods and devs should all be noted. That way users know who to bitch at/to.

+1 I agree with smoth

Its a powerful tool for new contributors to have their names recognized officially and handed something like this, even if the change is purely visual

All these added colors add nothing but confusion...

It's much more clearer to have a title below your nick, then you dont need to check the tip at the main pages bottom every time i want to know who the hell this dude is supposed to be.

Word. Titles are good and informative, colors are just attention whoring.

(except for what lurker and aegis has, that's just attention whoring too)
