No more Helpers Ai ?

No more Helpers Ai ?

I cant find the Helpers Ai in the Menu Anymore ?

Only my Problem or a changer ?

When it is only my Problem, please help me :P

If it was a Change, give me the Name of those wo had this ****** Idea :twisted: :-)

was a change when going from 0.78 to 0.79.
the reason for it was to easy development of hte new AI interface, and the overall consensus that widgets could do the trick just as good.

i disagree with this (partly) .. sorry ;)
The widgets is ATM and IMHO only a ALL units or none unit switch.
You cant select which units get the helper AI or which not.
On the old system you select for the units YOU like the helper AI and
only THIS units have it active.
With the new widget based system - if you activate the helper widget,
ALL units act now as helper AI active - if you like it or not.
This the reason i dont use this widgets anymore.

This is still a field who need improvements ....

Coud i have an explaination how to undo this ?


And if that is not possible, i need a link to the Version without this Change, im not eabel to find it.

you can get the selected unit in a widget too you know

a widget could be developed to assign a group of units to an arbitrary group and then only affect their behavior... I understand why the change was made but I do see that without accurate replacement widgets replacing the missing helper AIs functionality there would be some upsetting involved...

When you take these off the game it would make sense to make widgets that perform the same thing...

Since no one made them yet, I guess no one is really interested in it.

You could download a version < 0.79, but you won't be able to play online with it.

To be specific, you can't play with others using the latest spring (as was stated). But if you have enough skills to work on the source then you have more than enough skills to build a few lua widgets to do what you want which would benefit everyone and be much much easier.

also your complaints all need to be directed at guy who made the widget. The widget can get current selected unit(s). so your whole point is moot.

Which AIs do you want? I think all the functionality is possible with lua.

Group AIs did thing that no widgets currently do.

What can be done with widgets is irrelevant. It's about what has been done with widgets.

Some people came here to play the game, not code it.

Hi,

i would like to see follow widgets as a version with unit selectable code.
(only the Units I select get the widget) :

Auto Skirm/Swarm/Repair
Immobile Builders
Improved MetalMakers
Smart Nanos
Unit Mover

and the next widget wold be nice to work only on selectet Air-Fabs:
Only Fighter Patrols

This is "my" wish list to this thing.
(ATM ;) )
