Flower!

Post by Panda »

This game, Flower, for the PS3 (It was PS3.) looks awesome! It's an interactive video game where you play the role of the wind. You accumulate a swarm of flower petals on your journey through different levels and have to overcome obstacles. The video game requires that you are able to keep with rhythm and have pacing skills. :-)

Played a Flash game with a very similar concept a month ago.

The shaders are really great, it makes everything seem magical and alive.

Dunno about the gameplay- looks like a racing game where you have to keep the petals floating in the "wind" as you complete the courses, just perusing the video. I'd find that fun for about 15 minutes, but not worth $50.

But that's just me- I know a lot of folks like games like this to veg out with. Definitely magical graphically, considering that's PS2 hardware pulling that off.

I just read this review... meh, still not for me, even at $10. If it started out that way, but had challenges later that made it harder (and a level editor so that folks who just want a gentle pastoral can have that, and exchange it with others) it'd be interesting.

most casual people will not care for the hard level and just play the parts they enjoy.

I finally got to play this game and thought is was interesting and lovely. It's great to play when your stressed out from taking a lot of tests. I also like how each level is supposed to be a flower's dream. Each world had it's own unique characteristics and landscape. In some worlds you could glow and fly through fireflies or lights hovering above small mirrors of ponds. In other worlds you are swept through wind tunnels and have to avoid fire, down power lines and falling iron towers which can burn you petals.

You also can create a pleasant melody to go along with the background music by flying through the flowers in a certain way. Each flower has it's own tone that reminds me of various kinds of wind chimes. One of the flower's imaginary worlds, the purple flower's world, was very polluted and filled with a lot of fire and warped iron structures coming out of the ground and bending in all directions. The tone of many of the flowers in that world are tones that are often use in somber music like the kind of music found in the Fatal Frame (music box and piano) soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk-gEpd2snI).

Playing this game was like and adventure that involved going to and participating in musical performance. Each world had it's own feel to it, making it easy to imagine stories behind the music created for them, which is what you might do if you were to go and see an orchestra, like the Trans-Siberian orchestra, play! :-)

Looks like a tech demo for PS3, not an actual game, that people are stupid enough to buy.

well i have played blood 2 six times through when i was twelfe, so i have nothing of warrior-coolness to proof. Therefore i admit, i like this Game, it is casual, it is relaxing and it is something that just invites to lean back and watch.

There is this animee-cliche scenery, of a moonlit meadow, with lots of small withe flowers in full bloom, when suddenly the wind comes, swirling up the blossoms leaves. And it is called level four in this game.. :)

I like it

Some times spawn retard, you want something simple and sweet. There is nothing wrong with eating a nice orange over having a 4 course meal.
