Circular dependency Error?

Post by oksnoop2 »

My friend is getting a message about Circular dependency when ever he tries to start the mod JTA .09. Anyone know what the deal is with that or how to fix it?

That means that JTA must require something else... that requires JTA. That, or the same thing but with Lua, is about the only way it could possibly happen with Spring, I think.

That was well phrased I actually got that. Here's my next question. My friend has this error but i do not. Is there something he can do? Will uninstall reinstall the engine/lobby/mod help?

I would tell him to copy the Infolog or the exact error message so that we can help him understand what's causing the problem. It's probably something we can fix fairly easily.

My friend has this to say:

"well
i don't even get into the loading process
does it create a infolog somewhere and not tell me?
otherwise i have no infolog
and Circular Dependency is the exact error message
title of the box says Incorrect/Mission content:
then the actual window says Circular Dependency"

It also appears that he is having problems with other mods like maximum annihilation. He can play BA though.

The infolog.txt is in the same folder Spring is; we'd need to see one after he tries to run one of these games.

IDK what could be causing this, but if Maximum Annihilation's doing it, then it's probably Lua related.

It's not a lua problem.

Is he starting the mod from spring.exe directly or through the lobby?

It's interesting that he can play BA and yet two other mods give him the fault. Is he playing BA via the lobby and running the others direct from spring?

He is running all his mods through the lobby. I visited him today and he could also run evolution rts and spring 44. Starting the mod from the .exe does not work either.
