Planned downtime
Planned downtime
We'll be moving to a more powerful server this weekend, so some downtime is to be expected when services are migrated and for the new DNS info to propagate.
Re: Planned downtime
this includes lobby server and website?
Re: Planned downtime
Yeah.
We can use a backup lobby server. Mine is dead ATM, I have to reboot it.

Re: Planned downtime
Not that I'm being picky but soon there will be (if not already are) more autohosts than players itself. What for a new (assuming better, more costly) server when the playerbase is dwindling? I don't see anyone doing a jack about promotion of this game in official way.
I see more and more leaving than coming. It's already 'dense' as it's really getting boring to fight the same people all the time. I'm really safe to say we have more pro players here than new or regular players. This has to change, really.

Re: Planned downtime
Are you blind? More autohosts = more players paying for autohosts, and the playerbase is growing constantly, get some facts. And stop fucking crying about autohosts, you should be glad people are paying for them so people have a place to play.Achilla wrote:Not that I'm being picky but soon there will be (if not already are) more autohosts than players itself. Look harder. Also, what are you doing to help? Go tell your friends about all the free and legit games for the Spring engine.Achilla wrote:I don't see anyone doing a jack about promotion of this game in official way.

More smurfs and bots moving from other mods solely to play BA?Regret wrote:Are you blind? More autohosts = more players paying for autohosts, and the playerbase is growing constantly, get some facts. Yeah, indeed the playerbase is shining ... we should get 10'000 new players by 2011 at this rate.
Perhaps in your small world everything is green and colourful, but in my it isn't ... pure numbers say nothing, you need proper interpretation of that. Whenever I log in, I see less players than in few months before. It's pretty much enough for me to draw my own conclusions.
@CarRepairer
That's what I did, but despite my best intentions they think this game is amateur entertainment at best and complete waste of time at worst. A bit sad, because it's coming from former original TA players with which I used to play over LAN parties some years ago. I'm afraid my role in promotion of this game pretty much ends here, even if I don't quite like that.

Re: Planned downtime
If that's what they think after trying the game you recommended, then it's the fault of the game and has nothing to do with lack of promotion. You promoted just fine and the product itself failed.Achilla wrote: @CarRepairer

Re: Planned downtime
You're dumb and can't comprehend that spring is growing and want to feel all emo and go on about "LOL SPRING IS DYING". How long are you actually playing?Achilla wrote:Perhaps in your small world everything is green and colourful, but in my it isn't ... pure numbers say nothing, you need proper interpretation of that. Re: Planned downtime
How is this even relevant to the main spring server being upgraded?
Re: Planned downtime
growing ... not really, i guess the average players ingame grew up by like 30 in 3yearsRegret wrote:You're dumb and can't comprehend that spring is growing and want to feel all emo and go on about "LOL SPRING IS DYING". Re: Planned downtime
Who are these professional players everybody talks about
Re: Planned downtime
Spring is the best.
It's the developers and players that make it the best online team play game ever.
Just look at my RTS to compare...

Mine sucks in comparison. Mine runs on cell phones though. Maybe someday mine can become the new Java Spring. After I add multiplayer and 3D.
